If you look at the top node of the torso where the head and arm is, thats where the main node of the vest should be, (the central torso node is not needed anymore) I will make a tutorial on how if you still dont understand

You see, in my post where i remade the RIF remake, the vest is a separate model or fig and the node where the arm is attached, it needs to be joined there (the central torso node is not needed)

You will only be considered one if you trace other peoples figs, so you can trace things from google or other crap but not others figs on stick nodes.

Just trace a plate carrier image from the side, just like how i did with my RIF 6b45 vest, then resize to fit the character (it needs to be a separate fig and attached to the top torso)

Remade the RIF remake since i got in trouble with helmet for it due to the tracing, but he gave me the names of the gears and i found good reference photos so thank you and sorry @stickyellow, it may look similar to helmets but if you look closely it has some alterations
