  • Dinosaur Train! Anyone remember dinosaur train? Y’know, the funny dinosaur show from PBS Kids that our fuckass president wanted gone? Yeah me too

    RadoGoji: Son... Come home. Don't make me ask again.

    RadoGoji, one of my better heisei constructions. This specific Godzilla design appears in the 1993 film Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla II which is not a sequel to Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla of 1974 which is from the prior showa era, don’t blame me for the naming okay? Speaking of, RadoGoji is named after the original japanese name for Rodan which is Radon (ラドン), a little trunaction on the name of the pterosaur that inspired him; the Pteranodon. Pteranodon, get it? Also they couldn’t just name him something like MekaGoji, that was already taken by the 74-75 designs.

    Changelog is as follows;
    -Darker color scheme
    -Flatter head, added muzzle and muscle details
    -Less torso details
    -Refined thigh details
    -Remodeled fingers and nails
    -Nigh-complete removal of polyfill
    -Noticeably shorter

    Wohoo, we’re almost done with the Heisei era but first! A little something called a detour

  • Okay, so let me just correct something for a moment.

    My BatoGoji post is fine up until the second comparison image. Sure, you probably get the idea but I really get peeved by this so…

    BatoGoji Comparisons: Trust me

    Is it arbitrary? Yeah. I’m doing it anyways though.

    BatoGoji: This post is sponsored by Raid Shadow Legends

    BatoGoji… the original stk was my least favorite heisei design I did, it just looked so stumpy and flat. I haven’t had the fortune of watching the actual movie the Godzilla design was introduced in; Godzilla Vs. Mothra (1992). He was named after the rival of mothra, Battra or more specifcally, the japanese pronouncation of Batora (γƒγƒˆγƒ©)

    Changelog is as follows;
    -Remodeled head, flatter, more muzzle detail, and longer snout
    -Golden eyes are more visibly discernible
    -Removal of unnecessary details
    -Thigh details have been refined
    -Darker overall color scheme
    -Remodeled fingers and nails
    -Nigh-complete removal of polyfill
    -Noticeably shorter

    Okay, so far so good, right? Also I can’t help but think of that one animation where the middle aged dude is furiously swatting the ultra-fatmonculus ass cheeks of a caked up fly (the fly is clearly enjoying it)

  • Fuck it, we’re going Back to the Future.

    GhidoGoji: Time Travel! What, I see this as an absolute win

    GhidoGoji is basically BioGoji but even better, the angrier expression elevates the design and I have watched Godzilla Vs. King Ghidorah of 1991 which is a great movie if you can ignore the various time travel bullshiteries that comes with it. As I said in the last showa era post, this design is being treated as though it were an entirely new suit design instead of just a minor modification as there is at least an in-story change for him as the Heisei Godzilla is buffed from 80 meters to 100 meters.

    Changelog is as follows;
    -Angrier expression
    -That’s it…

    I really wish they kept this design

    BioGoji: Don't rescue me yet, I'm getting high as a motherfucker!

    Yeah so Toho decided to wait a little over half a decade to release their next film, Godzilla Vs. Biollante in 1989. I guess they were just brainstorming the next logical step and decided to take their sweet time to do so and yeah, now we have a ‘Heisei’ era movie released within japan’s ‘Heisei’ political period. Going forward, all of the Goji-names will be derived from the characters they face off so you can connect Bio coming from Biollante, Godzilla’s botanic sister-of-sorts.

    Changelog is as follows;
    -Darker, more accurate color scheme
    -Heavily adjusted head, jaws were actually changed twice
    -Added muzzles and muscles overall onto the face
    -Refined thigh details
    -Tail dorsals fade into the skin, more accurate overall
    -Removed unnecessary details from arms and hands
    -Remodeled fingers and nails
    -Nigh-complete removal of polyfill
    -Noticeably shorter

    Also I’m not sure if anyone knows but yeah, this is my favorite Heisei design. I don’t care if anyone can barely tell the difference since they’re usually pretty consistent going forward but fuck it, I like his cat face. Again, this design and every other Heisei design are going to be smaller as I try to scale the references to one another
