1) would anyone be interested in a 24/7 SN Minecraft server?
2) does anyone here KNOW ABOUT and want to manage a server if one were to be acquired/paid for (also how does Minecraft work, would a server be cross-platform because while I always think in terms of PC-minecraft, fact is people play it on many other platforms)

so, buy minecraft pc (or pe) and find this server named SN Community minecraft. and wait for it.
I am going to watch this develop
If it’s on PC i can handle it.
I have Minecraft on pc and Iโd probably play in the server everyday if it came out. But sadly I know nothing about server stuff.
24/7 server will be a mess, mainly in terms of handling it. Servers usually have perks, ranks, premium stuff to have the server be sustainable.
Then comes anticheat plugins, rule breaking, safezones, and so on. Unless you want the server basically becoming an anarchy server.
Then also steps in if it’s gonna be cracked or premium accessible (People who bought actual minecraft or for everyone). There’s a lot of things to consider, manage, and monitor/handle.
I doubt it’s good idea :/
Maybe like an one-time event, then sure. But 24/7 server will just be a nightmare.
i hear you but like
shit ain’t that serious, it’s like shitposting but in minecraft form – at least at first
I’m up for just playing it by ear and seeing how it goes, maybe start with just a plain-ass free server and see what we need/etc
Then comes anticheat plugins, rule breaking, safezones, and so on. Unless you want the server basically becoming an anarchy server.
this will all be handled by dude who has knowledge of this stuff in the past and doesn’t mind/has fun managing these mod shits and whatnotMan I wish I was paid while working on amino instead of playing Minecra-
sounds a lot like you’re about to volunteer as tribute
What is this, Hunger Ga-

perfect idea
see
you’re made for this
While loling and stuff, the more I think about it the less motivated I am for MC server.
Mainly cuz… Why really?-
There’s like a lot of good and fully working servers-
And they run for free and already have staff- Some even have minigames-
*existencialbreakdown.jpg*
because, it’s for the SN peeps here
imagine walking into a server and there’s EB in the corner making a 10:1 scale AK-47
then there’s the Furry Monuments over to the southwest corner
and aguy’s giant [redacted] symbol floating in the sky
Why can I imagine this so well like it’s already been made.
I’ve hosted my own Minecraft pc servers for free, but not on this large of a scale as it’s only been for 2 players at a time
i can still give some info if you want it, I’m open to all questions
we’re still trying to figure out the most basic question, how to get as many people as possible through cross-platform
so like, what Minecraft would that be and is that doable on a free server etc
(not really asking you specifically, but that’s where we’re at here)
yeah so Bedrock Edition is the one with the crossplay, which i think you get already
there are countless guides to make a Bedrock Edition server, but if you want to do it for free, the server is hosted from the computer you downloaded the server files to, meaning that the aforementioned computer has to dedicate some system resources (some CPU and a lot of RAM if you wanna have a lot of people on at once, might be missing something but I’ll check later today when i get back onto my personal server) to hosting the server
I don’t have Minecraft Bedrock Edition myself (long story short, the Microsoft account i had it on got deleted and I can’t recover the game) so i wouldn’t be able to test nor moderate the server
Oh yea thereโs this thing called Minecraft realms but I forgot how it works, I think you buy a realm and your friends and yourself have a private Minecraft world.
https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/realms/
This is the site it will tell you everything you need to know
Minecraft Realms is pretty limited tho :v
True, I havenโt done any research on realms. All I know is people can invite friends to private servers in Minecraft, Ik you probably canโt mod it but regular Minecraft is always fun with friends. I just donโt know how many people can be online at once.
f r i c k
Also heard about this place

@ralph
Oh yea and it’s like gonna be 30$ per month-
I think it gives more reasons why I think it’s bad idea lol
yeah probs start with a free server
but I have no knowledge of this stuff
so while I could probably set one up and give out the IP, that’s about where my handling of it would end
idk how to do mods or tweak the server or back it up etc so we still need that one brave soul
I donโt think the server would need mods, but yea we need that one person who knows the technical stuff.
About the cross platform thing, I don’t think there’s a way to have both the Java version and the Bedrock version interact (Java: Mac/PC, Bedrock: Windows 10, mobile, Xbox, and Switch). Also, you can’t add servers that aren’t already displayed on the server list for the consoles (Xbox and Switch).
interesting
wonder which would be the best to go with
I’ve always been PC-game dude but i think everyone and their mama play on consoles now
You should make that question a poll.
the only console at the moment that has minecraft but can’t play with pc, mobile, xbox etc is PS4 I think
but should probably let you know that mobile and xbox users can only play with pc players if the pc player is playing on windows 10 edition iirc
minecraft is so complicated it used to just be “pc players can’t play with console players or mobile players” but now it’s “pc players can play with SOME console players on SOME versions of minecraft” jesus christ
several aneurysms were had writing this post
hm, being that I’m familiar with programming and android-ios cross platforming, I can’t even imagine the amount of bullshit needed to get multiple consoles *and* pc *AND* mobile playing the same game online…..
anyway
that’s actually what I thought and hope
if we can get whatever version of Minecraft is needed on whatever server is needed for most-possible-cross-platform capability then we’d be doing something
idk what that is tho
I’ll try to look into it a bit tonight
oh my christ microsoft make up your mind
LAN
lmao
who do that anymore what is this 1998
maybe we just do PC minecraft to start
…
or does nobody do minecraft on PC anymore?
I just feel like what with all the popular mods and whatnot it’s still the dominant MC
I play with mods on pc, you can download mods on twitch
Minecraft has two versions, Java and Bedrock.
They both get their own releases, they have their own pros and cons. They both also have their own mechanics and logic that significantly impact the game.
Java – PC
Bedrock – Phones, Consoles, etc.
You can’t cross platform Java and Bedrock-
I aint even sure if you can cross platform console and mobile tbh
You can get bedrock on windows.
it seems Win10 can cross-platform with consoles
unfortunately I don’t have Win10 so rip me
24/7 24/7 24/7….
