I have very mixed feelings on this. I think I understand why they didn’t go with a classical looking sonic
Remember why people didn’t like sonic 06? It was because of a few things apart from the human to cartoon character relationship
The clash between real and cartoon and the story. I think to avoid this they made sonic this odd looking mixture but I can still tell it’s sonic clearly so I’m not complaining
The sonic fanbase however has grabbed their torches and pitchforks.
I like the use of lighting here for the effects however I wish fire was going behind him due to friction as it still effects his shoes judging from the pile of them.
I dislike the look of docter eggman here however I like the way he is potrayed here because not even the people want him around but have to bring him out.
I’m not sure how I feel about the non animal looking machines but I do like the one that has a smaller one in case the bigger one got captured
I also like how sonic fell into the spin dash on this
So in my opinion so far this is at least worth a look when it comes out

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Sonic the Hedgehog. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Sonic’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Sonic the Hedgehog truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Sonic’s existential catchphrase “Gotta go fast!” which itself is a cryptic reference to Newton’s laws of motion. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Jeff Fowler’s genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂
And yes, by the way, i DO have a Sonic the Hedgehog tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎
sonic got that look where they tried to make him too realistic and fell just short, so now it’s in the uncanny valley and it’s really bad

I’ll give you that, it’s an interesting dynamic, but damn if the dialogue isn’t funny at all
it’s like for 5 year olds and even they wouldn’t find it funny (the robotnik/eggman dialogue with the general)
then at the end, with the people asking,
“is your child in that bag?”
“no, well yes he’s a child but not mine”
“it’s not your child?”
they’re killing the joke there, like they’re explaining it, that last line shouldn’t be there, it loses something
They could have gone with a “Who framed Rodger Rabbit” style.
yuck! ah crap it hurts the community so much! ah someone save us! ah shet! faking bitsh! Sony and paramount is 2 stupid! what the fak! that’s it! I am no longer a ssonic fan! I wanna see the movie hurt the community by faking 50%!
