    ASSET(S)- #791, #792, #793, #794
    SPECIES- Dryosaurus altus
    CODENAME- “Road-Runner”

    LOADING LOG#36-

    “June 18th, 2019

“Our flock of one of our most adorable specimens, Dryosaurus altus, enjoys the early mornings of the day grazing on the fields in their paddock or getting a morning drink.

“Our Dryosaurus are one of pur smallest herbivorous dinosaurs, and among one of the fastest, reaching well over forty miles an hour with ease, and able to sustain those speeds for up to half a hour. More than enough to escape almost all predators. And having evolved in places cobtaining rhe likes of Allosaurus, Torvosaurus, and Ceratosaurus, it is easy to see why they have developed such a quick escape system.

“When not running, the flock will spend their days usually near the river, where they’ll soak up water into their fuzzy fluff and then graze, the drenched proto-feathers keeping them cool in the heat of the day. A single Dryo will always be on the lookout for any potential danger whether it’s predators, vehicles, workers coming out to feed or just passing by, or even particularly bad weather.

“But when they see a human they know will never harm them, they are like big puppies, chirping and licking the person and bounding about in excitement.

    “Simply Adorable.”

    LOADING LOG#35-

    “June 15th, 2019

“With the heat rising as the day continues, many animals have flocked to their water sources or shady areas to cool. For the Diplodocus, they moved towards their waterfall.

“Graceful and majestic animals such as the Diplodocus deserved an enclosure to match their beauty, with a waterfall spilling into a large pond at the edge of a mighty plain filled with vegetation. We are lucky that the sanctuary has so many wonderful areas or places to easily build.

“Our trio of thirteen ton sauropods are gentle beings, much like whales with their hauntingly beautiful calls resonating from that massive neck. And while here in the paddock they don’t usually do so, in the wild the Diplodocus have been documented many times to crack their tails like a whip, the boom from the sound barrier beong broke being used for long distance calls between individuals in a herd spread out when migrating or feeding.

“Their method of eating is very different to Titanosaurs or Brachiosaurs, which usually browse on trees and shrubs, stripping all leaves they can branch by branch. Diploducus and their relatives feed low to the ground, occasionally rearing up to browse on branches. But they more commonly mow the ground in a side-to-side motion while standing in one place, their long necks moving their heads to any plant in reach as they crop them up and swallow them, letting the stones in their gullet grinding the matter as its digested.

    “They are truly magnificent.”

    SPECIES- Stegosaurus stenops
    CODENAME- “Spade-Back”

    LOADING LOG#34-

    “June 15th, 2019

“Upon visiting the Stegosaurus paddock, I was happy to see the trio fat and content, enjoying any vegetation their beaks can reach. Not even trees are safe from these up to seven ton animals. Their small heads, while seemingly quite bad at getting enough food into their gullets, they are quite adapt to strip off leaves or grasses and swallowing, and later regurgitating it in a fashion similar to ruminants such as cattle or sheep or deer, chewing the partially digested plant matter and then swallowing, repeating the process a few more times before swallowing for the last time. An easier way to extract all the nutrients they can with teeth actually capable of the job, albiet not as good as Hadrosaurs.

“With their back plates and spiked tails, they had few predators in both the past and in the sanctuary, as not even a Tyrannosaurus, predators adapted to deal with heavily armoured herbivores, don’t usually tangle with an animal with the armour of an Ankylosaur and the horns of Ceratopsian on its powerful tail.

“This has led to the ones in captivity becoming extremely docile and lazy. This has led to them being extremely food driven when conducting examinations, with a few squares of hay placed in the room taking up the Stegosaurus’ attention as we saw how the animals were, health wise.

“If only most other animals here were this easy to distract.”
