        I guess the better question to be asking then, is what counts as free time and what counts as being productive / work?

        Building Rome I would say would be a productive endeavour, work if you will. Yes I know what you’re saying is a metaphor but still, I’d argue that too much free time is not ideal.

        I would count free time as restful activities, things you do for enjoyment that do not require too much from you in terms of motivation, discipline or willpower.

        That could count as being productive since you could apply those skills to a plethora of things, the likes of which can provide different opportunities, both career-wise and in it’s own domain.
