I used to genuinely be afraid of Herobrine and if ever there was something even slightly off about when I would play Minecraft, I’d just stop playing all together.
I remember trolling people with an old Herobrine skin that you could use.
Yeah, I used to think Jeff the killer was real. Because I saw a video where someone supposedly filmed a bloody cleaver in their shed and said if was Jeffy boy and then it showed someone in a while hoodie stalking through the window.

And honestly I don’t know if I’m more terrified of him or the dimension you go to once he touches you. Infinity sounds scary too.
When I was a kid and Five Night’s at Freddy’s just released I thought the characters were real… I lived in perpetual fear
As a kid, much like you i was always scared of Herobrine, but weirdly enough not because i feared he’d come through my screen and kill my entire family or something.
But because i feared he would mess up my phone, delete all my apps, and make me lose all my progress in Jetpack Joyride (after all, i poured my heart and soul into that game!)
Although Herobrine never did try and corrupt my phone, like one or two years ago, my PS4 that i had gotten as a Christmas gift like a year earlier was having some issues, so i sent it off to a “reliable” console repair guy who had already cleaned it up and replaced the thermal paste when i had just gotten it.
But as it turns out, the bastard sold it off to buy crack before he was sent off to an asylum to cleanse him of the adiction, so i was forced to buy a NEW PS4.
Even if i did keep all my previous games thanks to my PS4 account, all the progress was wiped clean, including both my MULTIPLE months long RDR2 and Ghost Of Tsushima playthroughs (rip).
Anyways, i think i went a bit off topic at the end.
Herobrine scared me when I first found out about him, then I kinda didnt give a shit. Just saw him as promo material for minecraft
Okay so this was actually recent and I dont know whether to feel bad about it or not, but I got deep into AU fiction on YouTube, and I found a AU of HTTYD that was an infection AU, I watched it, and was like “awh yeahr m8 this is sik” and googled it
