Was anyone else obsessed with catching bugs when they were younger? Like, in recess, I would always be digging through the dirt at the edge of the playground to find roly-polies, those brown millipedes that curl into a spiral, and sometimes those black centipedes with the bright red and yellow stripes. I found a dark lookin millipede with dark stripes that let me hold it. I would always be doing my damndest to catch crickets, grasshoppers, and rarely katydids (those bite, by the way. 7 year old me found that out the hard way- but still kept catching them)
I remember finding a red and green caterpillar and naming it Watermelon -

What’s weird is that, before, when I died from the creatures…I didn’t wake up. The dream didn’t end. It would just…flip to a different place, a new perspective. But as soon as I locked eyes with that one guy…I woke up.

There was also a man in the lab, looked like the Thin Man from Little Nightmares. When I saw him…I woke up

And in the volcano was but one type of creature. Fleshy, rotted draconic beasts with a mess of eyes over their face. I remember in the dream reading or hearing somewhere that they were thought of as death itself.

In the cities were robotic monstrosities that are stupid hard to describe, they were always some shade of chrome, polished, shiny. Like they were brand new. With glowing red lights for eyes. It was kind of like an overcomplicated version of that one robot from Zathura.

There were these four legged things that seemed somewhere between a starved wolf and a reptile, that would run on the walls and ceiling, anywhere their claws took purchase. When they got close, the world would…deteriorate, into a sketchy sort of mess. The best comparison I have for it was the early days of cgi, when everything was made up of those lines?
Then there was a dog, a German shepherd sort of thing, with a bloodied, antlerless elk skull where the face would have been. The eyes were blank white void that seemed to see through, or into you. Like it was judging you. These two were mainly in the desert. -

There’s another place I remember, from a more recent dram that’s still stuck with me
One side was an arid desert with small villages like an old western.
The other was a technological city not even comparable to the likes of sci-fi.
But along the middle…there was a volcano, surrounded by ashen, charred land. In the core was a sort of old, abandoned lab burnt and half melted with the long gone eruptions.
But the strangest part were the animals -

Though I kinda toned it down. I remember it being a winding expanse of roads, twisting, turning, looping, blending. Like a rollercoaster. But..more. It’s hard to describe, I dunno

I did eat a daddy long legs once, actually.

POPPY PLAYTIME REFERENCE!?Someone get the death ray we gotta start all over

Bugb 👍
not bug related but I do attempt to catch any frog/toad that crosses my path
I trapped a bunch in a box with my siblings and created a small ecosystem with dirt and grass for some reason when we were like 9
Turns out not all insects ate grass and rather each other
Rest in peace rolly pollies 😔
