Bases and scarves have been around before the start of YouTube. It was cool back then. But, notice what I said, “BACK THEN”.
That was 16 years ago! Change it up! YOU HAVE TO KNOW MORE THAN THIS!
Yeah. Most base/scarf figs just… Look almost identical. It’s like they’re all just recolors of each other, they just come across as bland and uninteresting.
Not to mention, their backstories are usually just as half-assed as their designs are.
The only thing “half-assed” here is your YouTube channel 🙂

I have seen your channel. And you’re pretty good with animation.
It’s not always a contest. Besides, animation quality means nothing if your characters are sh*t.
If your characters look terrible, the animation quality doesn’t do anything. Kaiju, you’re right in every aspect. The OC, while trying to look original, has no real originality or creativity. If you really want to make an original OC, you need to look through what people make, and deviate from that. And as a side note, OCs are supposed to be ORIGINAL. as are RHGs. You need to study what people make in the Stick Nodes community, see what makes the OCs unoriginal, and not do that. You need some real originality. Not many people try to imitate M or SMZ. Those seem to be relatively original. Try taking aspects from different characters, combining them in an effective way so they mix together well, and try using that.
In addition, a true animator relies on sources to make original RHGs, like pro animators. Take some advice, look for what’s not used.
You guys dont realise do you? I dont care if my Oc is unoriginal or generic. I care that i made a character, although he looks simplistic, i have many good things planned for him. You guys can roast me all you want but it will never bother me. 🙂
P.s. To dumb it down for some people: “i made this and im proud. If you dont like it then thats your own problem” 🙂

they are all the same in many ways, be it scarves, spikes, using gradients to try and save a figure, one or two limbs having different colors to make them “unique”, etc
in the same way your figure shares many things in common with the most basic and overused tropes and clichés for RHGs

And its quite hard to defend something that lacks so much, or has been done a thousand times. I’ve seen other people have OCs like that and they end up innovating to make something amazing. No one is attempting to harm Burst’s self esteem or whatever, but we want the best for him/her. We want Burst to use his/hers talents to make non generic good stickfigures worthy of the 1st place spot, burst needs to learn to take Criticism since thats how it evolved in to something burst found offensive.
