Actually, Tehphet is forbidden by law of her kingdom to have children. Also, Aephelion isn’t related to Tehphet, as far as I know.

He’s only known as the ‘Honour Guard Captain’ right now, though i may give him a name. I’m planning on making him a Lizzik (kinda like a cross between a Lizalfos from Twilight Princess and one from BOTW) who’ll have an Egyptianish name like Phaera (fay-ra) or Meythis (may-th-is)

Aephelion is simply an heir to the throne, he isn’t adopted.
Nor is he related by blood to Tehphet
He isn’t related to her at all, he still calls her ‘mother’ though even though Tehphet insists he doesn’t

I can see Aephelion being quite a frightened person due to how traditional Tehphet is and how strict she can be on rules and said traditions.
He looks like he would be kinda cowardly and shy.

Thing is, security is EXTREMELY tight around the Tehphian province so only Tehphet would know of anything shady
