There’s no “normal army dude”. There’s a band of warriors for most countries.

Countries use a specific core consisting of branches, divisions and battalions. Companies are less common in their ranks. Conscription is ideal, but powers like the US, UK, and France use trained professionals. Some countries need the support of others, while some rely on paramilitary because the only danger they face is tourists.
