Time to go to a martial art class where I don’t learn anything practical!
The moves they teach us here would get us killed, as I don’t think a tornado kick or a double reverse dragon anime kick is gonna do us much good in self defense, since half the moves require you turning around and exposing yourself to the attacker, or moves that take 20 years of dedication to use effectively, only for the attacker to move two centimeters backwards, leaving you in mid air, exposed.
Or my personal favorite! Who needs fists when you could use the back of the foot to slap them in the face with a slow sluggish move! Fantastic! That’ll get the attacker on the ground laughing before they catch your foot in midair and spin you round like a top.
The place is bullshit.

Not to mention the fact that all the moves only work on people smaller, weaker, dumber, and frail.
They expect an attack to just walk up to you, punch you. Jump backwards, walk up again calmly and punch you. Go back, walk up again, punch, go back, etc.
Or they expect the attacker to stand calmly when you grab their arm and start playing ballerina by spinning 20 times, and than flipping them, except, you can only flip them if you are the taller one.
What martial art is it?
Sounds like it might be capoeira by how flashy it sounds, even then though capoeira has some pretty good moves here and there.
Taekwondo, except the place runs like it’s a kindergarten and the staff is incompetent. They don’t care about the quality of the kicks but instead the quantity of moves.
That sucks, I used to do boxing at some local club and it was terrible, the basically just showed people how to workout, threw in some sparring sessions and occasionally we might actually learn something.
Taekwondo as a martial art anyway is a bit too flashy for my liking, something like Jiu Jitsu, wing chun or boxing is good though.
Yeah, I prefer boxing.
I sometimes go but not much do to reasons I forgot.
But at least I’m gonna stop once I reach my second degree black belt, which I believe I am almost at
Honestly
I feel like stuff like that is ridiculously situational.
Like
Would any smart attacker be without some kind of weapon?
Even a basic knife would screw you over
And guns just completely invalidate everything.
Exactly!
I wanted to mention that but I didn’t have enough time
