My favorite thing about this scene is how the movie tries to portray the rioters as “poow little irish getting hawassed by the army 🥺” like they werent the ones killing natives, mexicans, and burning down colored orphanages just a few hours earlier, the heroic music when the union started firing at them was well fitting, fuck those guys.
