H.P.-T.O.A.L.P.E.-X (Human Prototype-Terraform Operative of All Lands Possessing Emotion is an advanced prototype of an empathetic cyborg. He is one of only 4 projects developed by nearly every nation. A large majority of his body is made up of hundreds of nano-machines, which self-replicate (for sustenance) by manipulating material they mine. The only organs he has are a brain, one eye, a partial endocrine system, and for some reason, a functional reproductive system (ask @epitaph200; he gave it to him).

These nanites can repair his brain if it becomes damaged, and only his brain. A completely unintended design flaw will cause him to lose his humanity should his brain become beyond repair, and replace it entirely with nano-cybernetics. The only way to truly kill him is to either disable or destroy every single nanite.

Apart from mining/terraforming, his main directive is to ensure neutrality among all of the nations, i.e. no one nation may become more powerful than the others.

    • The only way of destroying him seems interesting but not fitting. Only one nation should have this tech though. But I might be able to work with this.

One way, but there are multiple ways to achieve it: electricity, acid, throw him in the sun, convince him to commit suicide…

He isn’t associated with any one nation, the epitome of neutrality.

At least some nation or faction should have this tech. The average person would never be able to achieve stuff like that in the series.

The tech itself comes from nearly every nation.

Sure. Maybe that will work but the main idea I’m not sure about. It seem too futuristic but maybe.

I kinda agree, though we do have nanites nowadays, and are getting close to Artificial General Intelligence.

    • Possible Balance Patch 1.0.0

      1. There is a distinct-looking, command nanite. Destroying it a has 99% chance to kill (the other 1% is a hierarchical reroute, sacrificing and replacing it in the process). Targeting it is all but impossible without analysis equipment, as it moves throughout his “body,” hidden underneath regular nanites.

      2. All of the nanites (including the command) are connected to one of 4 supercomputers, each located in a different quadrant of the planet he occupies (if applicable of course). Destroying these will not harm him whatsoever, but will severely reduce his intelligence to that of slightly above the average of a human. While functional, he has access to all recorded (human?, idk) knowledge. As impressive as that may sound, it only refers to “passive” memory instead of “active” memory. Active memory is what is actually used at any given moments, and is limited by the number of working nanites.
