Well today’s been s**t for me. Went to college to interview for level 3 course in Media after my level 2 course. I’d only heard good things coming up to that point so i thought i had this in the bag.
I brought 3 drawings and the first act of SNM Episode 11 (the entirety of the Cyan Claw vs Crimson Claw section). So the guy looks at the drawings, not really saying anything, then moves onto the 2 minute clip. He gets like 10 seconds in and just turns it off, doesn’t even address it.
He said that my previous grades won’t guarantee I’d do well and instead told me to either choose a different course or do level 2 AGAIN.
Back home now and really pi**ed off, ba**ard doesn’t know s**t about animation, he even uses bones in flash with nodes that have hierarchy over every single asset, making it so moving an arm affects the whole picture. A Scarf User could teach me more about animation.

Exactly. His skill is incredible but he wastes it terribly, hence why I’d give him nothing higher than 3 stars out of 10. He’s nailed animation but nothing else

I animated like that before, they haven’t taught me anything. All my skills have been learnt by talking to friends, experimenting and researching

But there’s an obvious pattern and that pattern is generic animations, countless cliches, cardboard cutout characters, the worst character designs seen by man, no skill in any tier outside action.
That is the most common traits, i know full well having liked them for years in my childhood before despising them now that I’ve realised how they hurt the Animation community.
