it was more of a database thing but i will admit i too am scared of the files plugin
it was the most finicky thing when it was first implemented
years of beatdown and changes seem to have made it more stable but bottom line is it’s an old plugin made by a developer who abandoned it 4+ years ago and was put into an abusive foster home where it was neglected and beaten into submission so it can turn on us any moment

reverting the files db table reverted it to the old vote values while the vote db table still had the updated data
redundant data is bad and this is exactly why but shrug.ascii

Is there like… A way to export all data of smth so it can be yeeted into new plugin?
Prob not since you’d have prob done it long time ago
at this point, it would have to be custom-made bc of all the custom SN-only stuff (UC votes, ratings, linked-user-to-files, etc)
which honestly I think I can do now, I’ve learned shits a lot recently
(i’ve already made a custom ratings system for animation spotlights in the new redesign, and will be working on new vote stuff for files any day now)
but it’d take, like, forever to do with a proper backend functionality like this has with nice forms and options and whatnot
so i don’t
