The first of many background character is done. This guy is the reason for story happens at all, the guy who’s barber did him so unbelievably dirty. Outside of being huge for a single plot point, the character isn’t too deep, just a crazy dude.
I had fun making him and he’s defiantly helped with the transition from super detailed main characters to less detailed background characters. I’ve been having an issue with making background characters as I’m not used to simplifying my ideas with figures
(Suffering from Success). I have about 10 more background characters to make so I may post them in batches but we’ll see. Once they’re done I can start the other views for the main characters.(Headline/news idea by Scarlett, it was fun to make thanks you for the idea).

Here’s an update as to what I’ve been working on.
I’ve done 6 idle animations and a couple of attack tests. (Original Riot pose by Water Drinker, I liked it a lot so I animated it along with the others)
-
Another update.
Firstly, just wanted to mention the discord is up and running and we’re still looking for help with the show
https://forms.gle/xjQyq9JZA7NEzVZ87
Anyway, more progress made. Firstly I’ve went ahead and done some touch ups with Pneuma. Most of the major things done were internals, so making her smart stretch, removing pointless nodes, fixing layerings, etc. However detailing was also done. I think it’s a solid step forward with her design. (New version of Pneuma is the left for the head and body only images, and the right for the full figure).
Additionally, I’ve started work on Damon, which is Riot before he corrupts/gains his powers. He’s nearly finished.
More progress reports can be found in the server.

Another animation down, forgot to upload it yesterday. It’s about 30 seconds long.
This one was an idea for a fighting game intro I had a couple days ago. Riot and Pneuma also had one planned (Pneuma’s was posted recently). I ended up extending it more then originally planned since I enjoyed the concept.
The test made me realize how hard Abeer’s hair is to animate. I think there’s around 60 moving nodes for her hair with this figure. Her causal attire has 2.5x as many moving pieces for her hair. Over time it gets easier, however it’s defiantly a lot to keep track of. Though it’s worth it since it really fits her character. I have some ideas on how to make it easier while not changing the design, but for now this shall do.

the exploding coffin lid got me
-
Its pretty nice 👍
gives me a 2010-esque cartoon vibe
if you wouldnt mind the advice
try to move every limb in every frame. not too much though, like for ex:
when he bent down to reach his hand to the coffin, you could turn on Lock-On for the feet abd slightly make it so the more he bends down, the more his legs get rotated/pushed forward. The lock on feature is kinda like inverse kinematics but way less, but it definetely helps.
Even though adding smth like the leg bending when he reaches down is a small detail, when you keep adding details like this together, its gonna make your animation look juicy and rich in movements!

Thanks man,
Of course I’d love any advice.
I think I’ve started to pick up on moving every limb but haven’t fully taken advantage of it. As you’ve pointed out I’ll defiantly need to stay on top of it to make it look good throughout since I got a little lazy with it near the end when she reached into the sarcophagus. Thanks for the advice man I appreciate it. If during any other animation of mine you spot something let me know, it all helps.

I’ve been running some animation tests over the past couple days. And recently animation as a whole has started to finally click for me. Not sure why it happened so randomly though now it’s starting to really make sense.
Below are 3 animations. 1 being 2 test moves which I made first. Another being a combination of moves. The third being pneuma swinging from a rope like a pirate which I made today.
The former and ladder I enjoy, pretty happy with both. The combination however I think I could have done better with more future planning. I ran out of space in SN to work with and really didn’t want to redo the whole test. By the end of it I was pretty tired so basically gave up. Plus I used the hurt animations as an excuse to try oversells so Riot’s moves lost a lot of impact
Thank you to water drinker for the animation references you sent, those defiantly helped.

Animation is truly something that just “clicks”, yk? Like when you think about it, you’ve developed and trained a part of your brain to analyze movements and recreate them or make them on your own in a certain style or fashion. When you see CGI or game animations, theyre not just mere movements anymore. No, they’re much more appreciatable when youre at a certain point where you know the process of animation. It literally just CLICKS. Once you make some great anim, you’ll just keep feeling the need to make more.
For me, it means alot to me. What started as me playing with Stick Nodes like theyre action figures back when I was 6, turned into this great hobby that then eventually turned into something even greater. I started learning 3D animation which lead to me trying to learn how to code so I can put my animation skills into a game. And what’s crazy? It was all because of Stick Nodes. I truly appreciate this app and how it’s led me to a great hobby. I didn’t expect to write something like this in a comment, but I’ve wanted to express what I think of stick nodes for a while now.

Draconia Actaeon has been completed, and as you can see she’s just a little tall
She took about a week and a few days from start to finish. Maybe 2 weeks if you count her concept art. The idea for a leader guard popped into my head as I was working on the background characters. Tinkered with her story and design and here we are. Now a random character is pretty important to the series.
She was by far the hardest character I’ve ever made. I had to do and try a whole lot of new stuff to make her. Though it was defiantly worth it.
Big thank you to Gigan, Cuss, Milky, and a few others else who gave me advice on the character. Wouldn’t have looked nearly this good without you guys
For anyone curious she’s 7.5k nodes. My largest figure by far.

I like how each character you make, they progressively get more and more humongous

Update with Draconia Actaeon,
I’m nearing completion with her. Just a few things left like the back leg, redoing the back hand, making the thumbs, making her human head, a bunch of fixes across the board, etc
For my first attempt with amour in this style I’m pretty happy with it. Defiantly some things I wish I did better but that should improve with experience/time.
After her I’ll likely tackle some of the background characters. Though with my experince with her I’ll likely simplify the designs I had in mind. She’s already close to 6k nodes, I’d rather the background characters be no where near that.
Like like before to the Corrupted server.

Another quick update with Draconia. The upper arm is almost done, just want to redo that tube to make it look like it’s bending in. Plus to add some more highlights/ shading. The arm should be done within a couple days.
Also, I wanted to include this, Corrupted has an official server up and running. I’ll be posting more updates there about the series. Plus if you’d like to help out, pitch ideas, or just learn more it’s a good place to be. Thank you all for the continued support

Update with Draconia Actaeon
Her torso is nearly done, just have a few more things I need to do before I can call it complete. After I finish up the torso I’ll likely move on to her arms. Currently the torso has been split into 4 figures, and 3 sprites, the most splits I’ve ever had to do for a figure. Finally, I’d like to thank Gigan for his help with the figure, I’ve gotten a lot of good advice that’s really improved the look.
Unrelated to the figure, I have made a Google form for anyone in the future who would like to join the team. It’s open and has no current deadline, no pressure to join of course.

Beautiful.
Those red lines ( the marked days one ) looks very slick indeed, is that a Stickfigure also or a Sprite?
You’ve really stepped up since the last major update in your characters, not to mention the amount and uniqueness of them all, keep going brother. ☝️

Those lines are a sprite yes. It’s meant to be blood, as it’s a tally of every enemy she’s slain. I have been considering redoing the spite since I don’t think it fits my style as well as I’d like, even if I think it does look good on its own.
Thank you Lemon, really happy to hear all the kind remarks. I really appreciate it man.
