Spotlight Critiques
A group focused on reasonably criticizing the old and new animations featured in the spotlight and future animations brought onto the spotlight so no spotlight animations are thrown into the background and forgotten behind the new animations.
Rules
-If you are to vote for any animation that is your own, go ahead and vote, but vote on it as if you are looking at your old self and bringing up what you can improve on.
-Forcefully telling people everywhere to hate on an animation isn’t cool. Really, don’t be that guy just cause you want the top spot.
-Vote hard, be hard on the people who get spotlight, they already are ranked high having their animation presented in spotlight, so don’t be afraid to give a low rating on that stuff, that all is private anyway.
-Go ahead and give a statement of what you see on the animation, you can put your exact rating in or not on every category. Just don’t force yourself to make one, it’s not necessary.

Today we have something looking rather promising and something looking like it will be lacking.
First up we got Red vs Purple Collab/Joint by ZephBH. I ain’t a fan of Zeph. Especially when he’s an ass and tries to defend that, but also cause his animation from what I’ve seen has been sloppy and choppy. Really hard to watch. But people make improvements overtime and I will give him the benefit of the doubt.

You have a unique looking which sits this at a good start. Looking forward to seeing what this will be about.

Today we got some more of the 404 Series and an animation test.
First up we’ll do the small animation test. This one being ROADHOG – Animation Test by X-Ray Anims. I remember seeing this whole transformers thing build up and I think I remember seeing this small test and thinking it was really nice. But I don’t know if that will hold up to today. But we’ll see.

We’ll see how this next one turns out and if it changes anything.

Today is some pretty easy to rate animations. The one animation is like 20 seconds long from what I read and the other is a timelapse of me making my M4A1s reciever.
First spotlight is Creation Of The M4A1 Reciever Timelapse by Explosive Bullet. As it’s just a timelapse, you can only really edit on how it’s edited and if you can really pull anything from it. You don’t need to watch this entire thing to give it a rating really just need to skim though, see if you can see what I am really doing and yeah. Go on and rate.

Today we return to Beyond Humanity and look at some more of Mei’s rather different SN animations.
Considering Mei’s consistent quality in her small animations, I would put her up front, but the other is still a series with much more to critique. This one I have no idea what it’s about but it’s Galahad and Scientific Witchery by Mei Yamakuza. We’ll check it out.

This one is Beyond Humanity Episode 4: Vaels Secret by Kenn-E O’s. From what I’ve seen, all episodes are featured, but the episodes shown are hardly connected. The story was still all over the place from the last and I really hope it improves very soon. From what I’ve seen, Elements has a contender. And not in a good way.

I’ve been very distant from Kenny and the Beyond Humanity Community, but last time I checked, They hardly animate anymore. So I doubt beyond humanity as a series will survive

Right to the point today.
First up is The Traveler | Episode 1: The Being by TheGamerX. A rough first episode, but thats common. Unfortunatly this series didn’t get to build up anymore cause Gamer lost hit progress. Really unfortunate, but this series had potential to be interesting. It goes by too fast as well but still somewhat enjoyable to see the characters and background effort.

crazy how long spotlights have been going, i remember these two like it was yesterday but, Jan 2019 wow
I remember being so impressed with that Aeon one because of the nonstop action and good effects throughout
I mean, still am, but so many SN animators keep raising the bar its crazyon a side note im so upset all the old spotlights have like “0 – 5” clicks when I know for a fact they truly have easily over 1000 each, because I would always note down the Youtube view count before/after featuring a video for my own curiosity, and it would always bump majorly during the spotlight time period
i almost wanna just go and “fake” the numbers for all past spotlights by some random ~1000 value so the numbers aren’t so sad (and untrue)

Today the legend returns for the 50th time.
And we got a somewhat different animation.First up we have Battle of the Gods (Ralph Vs Sean) by RANDOMstuff animation. This animation is unique in the matter that it’s focus is loads of destruction caused by two “Gods” fighting. Interesting but not much more to it.

While he looks at this as not really much of his best work, it’s a simple fight animation done right. The background plays into the actual fight and theres good animation all throughout. But collabs have to be a special type to be up front in front of an actual episode of a series made by someone. I swear this was strategically placed though and I am not just trying to get my animations up front to everyone. But anyway this is an interesting collab. It’s Countdown MMXIX 2019 Collaboration by Aztra Anims. It’s essentially a happy new years collab. While you kinda fall asleep for a load of it as many people didn’t really do anything special, it’s a collab that leaves you feeling pretty happy afterwards despite hoe out of date it is now.

So this one is Apocalypse Part 7 – All Together by Explosive Bullet. This is an episode of my Apocalypse series that I found hard to top. The animation in this episode was a vast improvement upon my previous animations with an entire episode worth of action. This episode accidentally came out as one of my best animation due to how much content is jammed into this 6 minute episode. Though I feel it raised the bar permanently as this effort trailed into Episode 8. But go on, watch, and rate what you think. I take any critisism you may have so don’t hesitate to go hard on my animations.

Dont got much to say about these two. They are pretty decent.
First up is AoT – Gen2 Scene- “Outside” by X-Ray Anims. I kinda felt this was lackluster for a scene. Hopefully it was built upon more than this, but the animation is pretty decent with angles.

This is an opening for the remake Leio wanted to do for his series, but I don’t know if he’s doing that anymore. But this really is an enjoyable opening. Its pretty solid especially with that lighting.

Today we got a lengthy movie and a simple battle. Interesting.
First up we are gonna stick with what is shorter here. Which is Joker VS Shadow | RHG Battle #3 by Joker Execution. I remember watching this. No scarfs in an OC battle. Already a good start. But Joker regardless has some pretty good animation. From what I remember this one was pretty good. But we’ll see.

I have my own series named Apocalypse and then this popped up out of nowhere. And you know, it might be interesting. But often times, long length animations tend to drop in quality.

We got 2 Series episodes to rate. And so far, I haven’t been impressed with Beyond Humanity. But it still wills sit at the front since it is big. Oh, wait, no this one video doesn’t even exist.

Alright, so today we’re gonna run into something different. It ain’t an animation, but it’s animating an animation.
So first up is SpeedAnimating : War Collab by JhonFX. I don’t quite know why they call it speed animating cause 90% of the time it’s them just animating something but it’s sped up in a video editor. It’s more of a timelapse if that’s the case. But I have yet to watch this one. It’s gonna be a quick one to rate cause all I gotta do is rate this on how it’s set up and if it’s any help to new people.

Well. Today we now I coming across something that apparently is very good. Which is Aeon. Heard he’s very good and can’t wait to see what he’s got.
But unfortunatly, we got a Map first. This one is called Town Of Salem | Halloween Map by Kaido Mation. Now as you know, I don’t like Map collabs at all. But that only makes it hard for me to watch it. I still have to vote on it fairly. But I will have to check it out. And so should you so it can recieve it’s rating.

Todays spotlights both have that “versus” thing going on.
First up we got the more comedic of the two which is Ralph VS Sean: The Final Battle by Various Pond. Various Pond always hassomething cool to offer and is always entertaining to watch. Highly recommend you go and check this one out. His animations are quite refreshing from the common SN animation.

It really isn’t special on how it’s done but the animation is very nice. It just doesn’t carry any weight as the characters use the SN classic of throwing all of their powers at their enemy to defeat them. But it’s still definitely worth watching for the angles and animation alone.

the thing about those animations (second one now) that always gets me, looking back, those were pre-movieclip times
idk how you people had the patience *and* skill to pull off some of those tedious-ass loops of effects/background wind/etc but SGA is one of those dudes that did it a lot

Well, frame by frame effects aren’t too hard to do. It’s just making sure you change the frame of the effect each time. But yeah. It is quite time consuming, but not with the add tweened frame button.

This ones a damn classic. I love it. The animation is great, although sometimes the posing can get stiff. The dialogue is decent and the effects are great. Although it does have quite a few DBZ anim cliches. I give it a 7.5/10 (oh wait just realized they’re wearing scarves 0/10 HORRIBLE ANIMATION DISGUSTING)

Todays spotlights are both short. It will be a pretty quick one.
First Spotlight is Special 6K|Raymond vs Lirk by Heckray Anims. To me this battle was a bit of a let down considering what you normally get from Heckray. But it was pretty decent with that incredible animation.
