HOW TO INSTALL SKINS:
◆ Create a folder called /skin/ in /Stick Nodes/ (or drop a folder called /skin/ into the Stick Nodes app files if on iOS, with iTunes)
◆ In it, place your modified textColors.txt and animationMenuAtlas.png – but place this PNG file in an appropriate sub folder /HD/ or /SD/
◆ (textColors.txt can be copied from internal app files, in the /assets/ folder)
◆ (animationMenuAtlas.png can be copied from internal app files, in the /assets/{HD or SD}/atlases/ folder – small devices only use SD assets folder)
◆ (How do you get into internal app files? Use an APK editor or find a link to download the files posted by someone online
So your folder should look like:
/skin/HD/animationMenuAtlas.png (the 1024×1024 one)
/skin/SD/animationMenuAtlas.png (the 512×512 one)
/skin/textColors.txt

The only person who is able to code here is Ralph himself. So if he refused a feature for the app it probably was ridiculous to code or useless. Meaning that we definitely won’t even be able to do them.

Hmmm, I’m having this idea to make Optifine/SNfine “skin” for stick nodes that aims to give better Performance for low-end devices. I’m wondering its possible? Any idea if I can make this a thing orrr. Because most users crash on using too much Effects and loose their projects. So?
Also I’m sorry for crossposting, I just want people to enjoy their stick nodes better.

@ralph Can I post an actual modded APK of the free version of Stick Nodes? I made a version without the project node limit. (Creation mode node limit is still active because of the possibility of people submitting figures that are over the node limit).
I also managed to add a disclaimer to the top of the change-log that says “THIS IS A MODDED VERSION OF STICK NODES, RALPH IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR BUGS CAUSED BY THIS MOD. FURTHERMORE, DO NOT RELY ON THE STABILITY OF THIS MOD WHEN WORKING ON VERY IMPORTANT PROJECTS. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.” (with google-translated translations for each of the other languages as well)
I also changed the denotation during the splashcreen that says “(FREE)” to “(N.P.N.L. Mod)”.
The only other change is that I of course added myself to the splashscreen (and a friend)[Also a character named “You” with a royalty free question mark as its image by default that you can change by modifying the APK.]

I mean if you wanna mess with it and give it to some friends via discord that’s fine, I can’t really stop that, but pls don’t make it “widely” available like a giant ass download page for the public or something

Ah, that makes sense. I didn’t even consider the fact that it might mess with your accounts and such. Well, I’ll respect that and keep distribution to an absolute minimum. (Only between friends I trust to not distribute it themselves)

Honestly, I think that’s half the issue. As far as branding goes, I agree with you, in that people can’t blame Ralph for issues with modded versions. Also, me and any fellow modders can also take it a step further and change the icon, name, etc if need be.
But Ralph brought up a good point about the various analytics/ads systems that are under his account. The modded version could affect important statistics, data, and other important things I don’t know about with his account.
But maybe there’s a way to remove those systems?

Ah. That makes sense. If only it where a mod downloadable in an ESP format like games like fallout utilize for mods. They modify the game, but don’t modify it directly. I mean if there is a secret node removal thing in the apl, that would be nice.

I just thought of a solution:
1. Modders can make Stick Nodes mods work entirely offline to solve the issue of mods messing with your various account stuff.
2. Modders can use a different icon, name, logo, package name, etc to disconnect it from the Stick Nodes brand.
These solutions seem reasonable to me, but maybe I’m overlooking something.

Yo I am thinking of moving the skins submission from the email form to just having the submissions posted here in the group. Prob will be more convenient for me since there would be at least one screenshot required of the skin. Meaning I definitelly won\’t take 3 years to approve with the clunky system I had. Thoughts?

Fun fact. New Dark Skin may or may not have slightly different shades of grey/blue etc.
Reason: The project files were on bricked laptop from years ago, and the most backed up thing was just during my work in progress project of early skin design.
Might as well just use excuse like \”Official, so it can be slightly new to be fresh\” or something like that but I am mad at myself for not backing up so here\’s my self rant.
Anyway, after that will probably redo the skins site. Hopefully will be able to get a system that would finally improve skin submission for me.

Meaning the first wave of people is probably gonna come expecting quality but it’s gonna be completely empty since no one actually could make skins yet for this new update. As well as it’s probably gonna be locked in many places since it’s being reworked heavily
