I mean… I kinda have an idea on how it could be done, but flatline brain on coding.
My idea is to get the rasterized stick (1), have a copy (2) that’s shifted x/y coordinate, subtract alpha channels of (1) and (2). The (1) pixels, which haven’t been subtracted would work as the lighter side. Then do same for (3) but with -x/-y shift.
Then user just adjusts the opacity and the blur of these things.
