Prob not since it would be basically forcing the developer to tailor the game for the specific style the sprite set as well as the gameplay would be basically also made just for the sprite sheet.
Like jump, punch, shoot, etc. It all depends on what you add, would force the dev to make a game with the strict resources on character that isn’t theirs and stuff
So yeah… I’m guessing people would say no :v

Alright. Just gonna put this up here because it is a common problem that people do in their entries, which will basically automatically disqualify them.
Pay attention to the end result of these splash screens. In the app they are processed to have the white highlight and shadow. I marked these with orange arrows.
The issue is when there’s effects. They end up having a shadow of their own inserted into the thing, which would just end up weird and stuff. Don’t do auras. Some small menacing effects are fine.
The other thing however is also the post production editing. Between your submission and it being in final project, Ralph puts the image in photoshop and applies bevel filter, giving on top of it that 3d look. Top left sides get lighter, bottom right darker.
This is kinda why multiple character thing might also be problematic. They’d end up looking like one single object.
While it’s not specifically said or wasn’t suggested… If your project had for example 2 characters overlaying eachother… Send 3 images – end result, and also images for separate characters. That way they will have the bevel filter applied and then merged together in photoshop.
Sure, the white highlight in app won’t be separating the two characters but it is what it is.
Anyway. Hope this explained the problem and good luck with submissions.

You should do one without the dash effect thing. It will bronk with how these images are processed and will just not work correctly :v

This also before he finishes tutorial the deadline might be over
On top of that there\’s also factor of people having to see the video and prepare themselves

Don\’t put stuff like a shadow for the characters and stuff because the splash screen itself has this shadow thing.
So it\’s gonna give you a shadow for your shadow and it would just be wack

tbh considering how bad my memory is idk if you\’re gonna ping everyone or not but wrote those statistics just in case.
if you promise that then you\’re prob trying to give me second doubts trying to back away from it after hearing the statistics-

Btw there\’s currently 16852 users.
Even if it took you five seconds to fetch each ping name… That would take you almost 24h to do so…
and considering how going from one user page, copying, then going to another would take around 10 seconds then double that time…
Assuming you\’d do this non stop 2 hours a day, this whole operation would take you around a month.
Mix in constant batch of new users coming too throughout the month.

I don\’t think there\’s one but there\’s still rules.
Just because you\’re able to do someting, doesn\’t mean you should basically.

Issue starts on credit
Also if I\’m really feeling experimental I could just hack SN rn and swap one of atlas files with that vast thing so you\’d see the problem :v

Is a character holding guns fine?
shit, you ain’t wrong
i kinda forget *that* is why i originally didn’t want transparent-based effects (blur/glow etc)
damn, i may have to remove any transparent pixels if that happens
honestly the white and shadows are added during runtime (it’s just a tinted version(s) of the image overlayed on top of each other at offsets) so besides the bevel, no photosop
priority for round 2 of website stuff: pinning threads to groups
well shit, I used blur in mine
…………oof
ey ralph
Hah. Knew this before. That’s why I made sure all of my lighting stuff is on the inside of the actual solid part of mine. Better make that exception. But not make it public because we know people won’t understand that.
In a brief summary
Don’t use transparency
