The Giten isn’t a mindless destructive force, it has a drive behind it. The Giten is driven by a single motive that was instilled into it the second it was made, and that is to purify everyone that it can. While it is not uncommon to see large plague or parasitical creatures like these “purifying” organic matter by simply killing them and absorbing their biomass, the Giten takes this a whole step further. When the Giten gets ahold of a subject, it will begin to assimilate the victim by replacing and mimicking all of their cells with their own, literally converting their body into Giten and to a much further extent their own consciousness, The Giten preserves the consciousness or the “soul” of the victim. It’s unaware whether or not the victim is actually alive afterwards now that they’re a part of the Hivemind or if they’re simply being mimicked by the Giten now that it knows everything about the victim, every memory ever stored in their brains is absorbed and fed to the Godmind, thus being returned and shared with all of the other minds. If the person is still conscious within there, they are now a part of a vast network of minds and consciousness, gifted almost all of the information the universe has to give. With how many worlds that have been absorbed already, the Giten has a vast knowledge of everything and everything one can think of and it’s knowledge of everything grows constantly as long as it’s able to spread and absorb.

The Giten purifies because it believes the universe is imbalanced and as a result all creatures are inherently evil. It can look straight down into ones soul and view who they really are down to the most basic fundamentals and judge them accordingly. **It is neutral and unbiased towards any creature, the Giten is perfect and it is judgmental.** The Giten will carry out this task any number of ways depending on the size of itself and the creature it’s assimilating.

Process 1: Giten will enter the body through cuts and openings. Once inside it will travel through your bloodstream and deposit itself through the body as it spreads, it’s main point of interest is the spine. From there the Giten will grow within the persons brain, breaking it down and replacing the cells with its own, it will do so throughout the body. More often than not it finishes the brain faster than it does most other parts so the victim will become mostly unresponsive and forced into a kneeling stance while the Giten takes hold of everything else. This can also happen if a tendril implants itself onto the face or back of the head and releases it into the body quicker, it’s main target is the back of the head as it gives it immediate access to the spinal cord and brain stem. This process can take up to 3 hours for a persons entire body to be transformed under the right conditions.

Process 2: If a victim is found surrounded by enough Giten it will simply pull the victim into the ground or onto their back/stomach and will then fold itself over them. This method allows for full-body exposure all at once which rapidly speeds up how fast it can assimilate somebody. Within a minute it could be already too late to save them with most of their skin dissolved and their flesh dissolving.

The first method is very important for the Giten as through it, it can do a lot of deplorable shit. It’s been documented that a Giten Hivemind will intentionally spread to a very powerful political figure and not fully assimilate them, only the brain. From there it literally possesses their body and makes them a puppet until it decides it is finished using them. Because of the fact that it absorbs everything stored in the brain, it is almost entirely impossible to be sure whether or not somebody is being controlled because it can act just like them.

If you are dealing with a Giten problem on your planet. Trust nobody. They’re all liars who either don’t know what they’re dealing with or are working with it.

The Giten needs energy to survive and grow, it’s necessary that it consumes as much as it can so it can of course grow as much as it can. However there comes a point where the Giten decides that it doesn’t need to use this energy to grow, so instead it stores it away. This stored energy can be used for really anything, usually it’s used to grow more in the case that it can’t get a good supply of energy, but more often than not the Giten weaponizes it.

A single days worth of energy, if a Hivemind is rooted into a planets core, which is usually one of the first things that happens, can be transformed into a weapon. What kind of weapon? Depending on the amount energy exhausted at once it can range anywhere from a shockwave, EMP, or a temporary tear in space and time that sucks things in. Most of the time it will result to the shockwave, unleashing energy in powerful pulses and knocking people or vehicles back, even knocking close flying vehicles away. This shockwave makes it incredibly hard to contain the Giten, being as it can easily decimate its enclosure if it so chooses.

If a very old and very powerful Hivemind, such as an eldermind or the Godmind, needs to get rid of a bunch of attackers quickly it will exhaust a lot of energy and create temporary tears in space and time which can suck in anything around it. This is almost entirely exclusive to the more powerful minds in the Giten hierarchy as this much energy being exhausted can potentially kill or seriously harm a normal mind.

Attacking the Giten at close range is bad for many reasons, and this post clears up why. Of course there are other methods that it does use however these are the methods that make use of its stored up energy and were way cooler than just a typical melee attack.
