like many tv shows and movies, typically the first scene is something to draw you in, and is typically action-oriented
whether it be a flash-forward or a flashback even, or neither, its just something that catcehs the audience’s attention even if they don’t know what’s going on yet youknowwhatimsayin
then it usually slows down a bit to actually introduce and begin developing characters
