I’ll give it a shot but no promises

I’m just even trying to figure out where they would even fit. The purple part is the main flexible body sci fi mesh stuff. The chest is already bright and so is the main blue armor. Gradients to make them bright wouldn’t make sense. Burned gradients for damaged armor I could maybe see but that’s for scene specific scenarios

  • @ariel I tried but gradients make absolutely no sense on the shape of this figure. And honestly I don’t think gradients make sense in general

    • They almost never do tbh. I only use them on circles & ellipses 80% of the time.

Yeah. I’ve worked on an animation before and I had to make a damaged version of one of my figs which used quite a few gradients.

Gradients as a light source I could see if you reduce the transparency but for base armor they should be optional ad ons

I don’t like working with gradients. Their cool but 90% of the time they just cause me frustration

Uhh @acufan2000 and @giganshowaera I poke thee since y’all do sci fi

  • Alright presenting the new body. Let me know if it’s a bit weird please. Open to suggestions especially on details. Didn’t know how detailed to go especially in this new age of sticknodes

i dont even know who is that but, need gradients, and damn too much nodes for that, u do the siluete with small nodes and then u fill it right? bad bad

You have to learn how to apply them, they are useful for showing depth and and light.

Without them the final product will have a more flat quality. Try using an elipse gradient with a lighter color to represent metallic qualities.

  • Good heavens these bendy nodes OP as hell. Got a figure from 51 nodes to barely 20 with just bendy nodes alone.

  • What’s a good color that connects with purple? I wanna make the larger armor chunk a different color so the silver and grey stands out but I don’t want to just make it a lighter purple. Here’s the reference to an older figure of mine I’m taking inspiration from

  • Experimenting with creating ball and socket type connections with the bendy nodes. Not much of an update, gonna be burning the midnight oil.

  • Man the coolness of Stickfigures has gotten way up since I was last here. Just recently got 100 pages back.
