Practical Tutorial: Double sliding door

It’s a pretty simple trick i use for some time to make double sliding door open and close with only one non-static node.
-The green segment is the control node it must have the same length as your door panels.
-The blue segment creates the reverse stretch effect, it is static and must be twice as long as the green one.
-All the nodes that make up your door panels must be in “Do not smart-stretch” mode.
(All red segment are only here for exemple visibility, and are not necessary to make it work.)

Your door panels doesn’t have to be juste rectangle, be creative.
Here are some stick figures where i use this trick for exemple:

Or if you need the new length of the main node it’s
Y= (Offset/B)*A -

In a more simplistic way, If you search the length X you need to add to A to place the dot in the center, the formula is:
X= (Offset/B)*A – A -

The dot is in the middle when:
Node length*(main node new lengtht/ main node original length) – offset =0 -

and i calculated:
833/500=1,666 It’s the factor
300*1,666=499,8
480*1,666=799,68
658,5*1,666=1097,061
So it’s linear but you changing the factor with the lenght of the main node -

I recreate your contraption and here are the lengths when you add 333 to the main node:

The entire group in a month explaining how we could use smart stretch to hypothetically materialize a worm hole and become a space-faring civilization:
Ps I wanted to actually make a whole ass tutorial regarding this exact thing so thx for saving my time now i can move on to different topic lmao
