Saw some reference material on Pinterest and I thought I’d give it a try and put it into β€˜SN terms’ if you can even really call it that.

Essentially for making creases on a character, you consider the joints / points between movement along with the shape of different parts.

In the example below I used the joint of the shoulder and the top of the forearm, the sleeve of the shirt should crease where the green gradients is marked working it’s way up the arm, as you can see the gradients are facing the sides of the top of the forearm where of course the arm would be forcing the creasing.

I also put some crease marks where the shoulder would be

    • All the creases are facing where the forearm and upper arm is pointing, so just using the positioning of the part and it’s start you can get an idea of how to make creases effectively rather than adding it and using trial and error until it looks right.

      Hopefully that helps

That’s really nice to hear actually, I’ve been in some kind of turmoil lately with Stickfigure creation so it’s nice to know that what I consider okay others consider pretty nice.

Thanks, maybe I’ll try and work at a better pacing and submit some things.
