this is a real image from an officially licensed Nintendo product

So I am now permanently locked out of Rainworld, neither the arena nor the story works, when I hit play, it just fades to a white screen, and that’s it, it doesn’t respond to any key command, and I have to force my way out of the game tab using the windows key, and then manually shut it down with the steam page.
someone help me out here
I’ve uninstalled all the unstable/outdated mods that could potentially be causing this and none of them were causing it.
