Why do people dislike furries?

Like, i want actual reasons why people don’t like furries. Is it because they’re different? They like to pretend they’re animals? They like something that you don’t like?

I dont really care if you are a furry. Just the general population of them is not similar to me. Cause me, I am a introvert. I hate people looking at me. BUt those people are just so extroverted and it seem like they dont care that people are staining at them and its just something I could never do. And I just find it weird. As a cosplayer I can understand why people find it weird.

I have friends that actually own fursuits and they’re actually are kinda introverts, idk but the suit makes them someone else, like, they can do what they like without people judging them becomes they can’t see the actual person or something like that

I’ve never hated furries, I’ve mostly just be confused as to why people do. The closest I’ve gotten to disliking furries is when they get overly defensive and start trying to go on offense mode. It just annoys me when people do that in general.

I’ve never strictly disliked furries but they’ve always struck me as odd. Like if someone told me they’re a cat, I’d just give them an awkward smile and thumbs up and go on with my day.

Likely because they’re different and considering how we as humans hunt and kill them and then some of us dress and act like them it’s just seen as an odd thing to do.
As the years progress though I doubt it will be so looked down upon.
Personally I don’t mind furries or at least the concept of doing something that makes you feel confident by being something besides yourself, to accept who you are and not long to be better is something little to no people can accomplish, even judgemental people. Truth is none of us are perfect and are all in some way flawed.
A lot of the points here are pretty interesting, a lot of which applies by the same viewpoint here, the only one I noticed disagreeing was aguys and in some aspect I see what he means, a lot furries is seen to be as outcasts and have some weird fetish that some may despise, pedophiles abide by the same concept except are much worse as they act on it in a physical way, at least a lot of them would.
Furries aren’t necessarily pedophiles or bad people it’s more so the catergory they fall into. Also as for the whole they’re are redditors thing, redditors are seen as people who spend a lot their time arguing and critiquing each others grammatical and english skills along with being very harsh. This is probably linking them to the whole introverted awkward aspect of furries and that’s what links them to redditors, at least from aguys perspective.

being anthro’s fine by me but after joining a furry community on discord myself their interests are just, immorally correct. i mean some are interested in fucking, rape roleplay, and so much more. they also want to force the belief that “being nude is ok, your body is great” look i’m fine with people that believe body positivity is good, it is, but personally i don’t like it when people do it so it’s easier to get complimented for drawing out their fetishes
now to be fair, yes this was just one experience in the com, this was also a rather limited experience with furries but what i’ve come across is that they are fine with having, fantasizing rapists, and constantly-horny-about-everything kind of people within their community and personally just the pure lack of organization and morals within this notorious group of people already sparks dislike within me and much more.

They’re people that act like children. Go ahead and dress up as an animal, but don’t do it because you don’t want to be human and refuse to accept that you are human, cause you can’t change that. But it’s undoubtably wrong that they sexualize everything. The cringe is only a side problem with them.
I don’t have anything against furries, I just question why they are mostly used for inappropriate purposes.
Something about pretending to be an animal who looks human like just doesn’t sit right with me, it’s almost uncanny in a sort of way. While yes, people can have their own passions and be who they want, furries have always given me a weird vibe that I don’t like. Their art is fine though sometimes, and I can see alot of time is put into both cosplays and drawings. The main reason alot of people don’t like furries in my opinion is because of a few things that put them into a bad light, like its sometimes gross and toxic fandom (cough cough rainfurrest cough cough,) their weird baby talk language that makes me and alot of others uncomfortable, and its uncanny feel sometimes which can make you cringe or just be uncomfortable seeing it.
A lot furries are sexualized, and that tends to make people see them the wrong way.
