• Mr Random

Thanks to everyone in the Warlock Imperium for helping me find out who was behind the account. So basically this is how the past few hours went:

    [Incident 1]
I go to Google to search up my username, a technique I’ve used before to find old posts on here, as scrolling takes way too long. I then go to “Images” and find a post of IG wearing a black shirt with a caption above it saying “Write a headcannon for this OC” or something like that, and I know I’ve never posted anything like that, so I click on the link, and it sends me to a group on Imgflip. I scroll down to see many similar posts, using different OC images, but having the same caption. I thought it was weird and posted it to the server just because.

    [Incident 2]
I get curious and clicked on the user profile of the dude who posted the images, and then I saw the description:

    γ…€
I am a bit intrigued and scroll down a bit (for like 30 minutes) and I find a LOT of posts containing old versions of my figures, and a bunch of other work from others users, such as K-Zilla and Sultanthederp, as well animations from others, and possibly stolen memes that aren’t all that funny; couldn’t fit everything but you can check the account for yourself.

Messy image showing a plethora of screenshots of reposts and stolen work from the account

    [Incident 3] γ…€
After informing this to the server, my dear friend Guest789 figured out it was @bensupergamer4221 upon comparing the names of both accounts, I also found a post from the Imgflip account, which is a SCREENSHOT of a comment section on the site. And after going to the Sticknodes.com account and clicking on “Favorites”, the same exact post is there.

TLDR; He posted a screenshot of the comments on his sticknodes.com post to Imgflip, showing that he liked the comments, revealing that he is the same person.

Left: IMGFLIP post of screenshot/ Right: Original Sticknodes.com Post

    γ…€
So what am I trying to say? I politely ask that YOU, @bensupergamer4221 cease claiming and using other people’s work without permission, and delete every post that contains stolen artwork or figures, which you claim are yours, but are in fact, not.

I do not wish to start a problem, so do not harass this user, I am just coming forth to explain the situation, and how this guy, who’s been stealing work from others for almost a year (or more, I didn’t look all the way through), is still active.

  • Update Aftermath and Useful Adjustments

It’s been a month (and two days) since the The Sprite Update was released to everyone, allowing for more accessible methods when creating stuff for projects, such as backgrounds, props, and so on. With these new implementations, a bunch of animations that were recently spotlighted are good examples showcasing the extensive abilities and uses of sprites. Since then, two small updates have been released, mainly fixing bugs and stuff, but more importantly experimenting and changing the UI around, and I’m pretty sure nobody liked when the “view static nodes” button was removed, but it got reverted after everyone complained.)

Anyways, 4.0.2, came out recently, and there are some new alterations and additions that are actually worth talking about. Starting with a slight but monumental change:
    γ…€

    NODE LIMIT INCREASED TO 400!!

    γ…€
After five years, the Node Limit has finally been increased once more. Even though it’s only by 16 nodes, it’s still cool to have both a rounded amount, and just extra nodes in general.

    Movieclip Frame Limit Doubled!

    γ…€
Another limit increase, but way bigger. Now you can make longer movieclips, though I can only think of using the for like a moving background or some slow-paced moving elements idk.

    New Addition: Visible in Onion-Skin!

    γ…€
A new button was recently added, now letting you choose whether or not an element has a visible onion-skin. This feature can be useful when you have a non-moving background, and want to have the onion skin appear in front. Now animating with a background won’t be as tedious, nice.

These were the most important changes that 4.0.2 introduced, everything else was just fixes with the exception of some Splashscreens being updated, but it’s cool to see more modifications to current features.
    γ…€

    [Stick Idol: Official SN Collab]

A new official collab was also announced a few days ago, with the premise of it being a talent show, so if you want to participate, you have until August 5th to submit your entry. The video explaining the collab and its rules is linked below, so if you’re interested in joining, make sure to check it out.

That’s pretty much all for now, good luck if you plan on entering the collab, see you next time!

  • Stick Nodes 4.0.0: The Sprite Update

After a little over a year in the making, the sprite update, one of the most anticipated updates so far, has finally been released to the public as of June 10th, with it introducing a bunch of new additions and changes. Let’s start with the more important and new stuff first.

    [Splashscreen Winners!]

The new app intro now has 82 new Splashscreens, along with some new splashscreen background art by Jackfly. (R.I.P Ball Game) Anyways, here’s the full list of all the winners that I had to keep reloading the app for like 30 minutes for, (In no particular order):

Gigan, OmegaRaptr, Stewman, Scout Trooper, Arcane Knight, Coll, Ralph/Dio, MonKeiTree, StickFenix, FlameDragonAnims, Project Zero, Andrew Animations, Darren Zcon, ZuroDoro, WasteOfTime, TeoTheDan, B3TTØ SØUZ4, Joe347, Exi_Ray, Danny, Genesis, Mattsteadystudios, MikeSparkC, AnimAsians, RixFX, CocaRichla, PsychoM7, RefrigeratorRi, _NotROHAN, Retake, Mei Yamazuki, Vincent, Juzt_Shady, MaloneZ, MACY3, Evla, Noobish, MilkyMurderer, AnimsIsaac, ElpMan, RayZer, FireDino, Austin Animations, Explosive Bullet, Slingmin Anim, Squi, CheeseBiscuit, Typical Animates, Aleks (Boiled Eggs), Daitus, SoupMann, K-Zilla, Romeo of Romelution, Darkboy Animations, PermaDeathAnimations, SpiderTeen, VulcAnimateHD, MichealangelØ, MelodyMuse, LB, Heckray, TheTotalMC, Raimondo Lukasha, Avan/Orion, Oxoph, Rocket_PC, Toxic_Anims, CYAnims, Inferno Animations, MeiMei, Guest789, Jackfly, A Guy, GrayDank, RENDOUV, Just Gek-o Runo Devola, TheGamerX, Dissolve_4U2, ThoughtsOfEverything, PrimoZ, Vlizzurd, and all of the Translators.

    New Additions/Changes

(Sprites) You can now import images into your projects, whether that be backgrounds, props, or even characters sprites and Minecraft skins, it’s all up to your creativity how far you can push the boundaries of this new feature.

(Merged Tables) My muscle memory is in pain- With the ever-expanding import tables of stickfigures, movieclips, and now sprites, I can see why the change was made, it’ll take some time to get used to, but it’s overall just a way to better organize the UI. Oh and also a new button that takes you to the site.

(Unlimited Nodes) That’s right, no more node limit! (Applies only to projects, not figures-) Now you can destroy your device with funny stickfiggas. This is the first thing I did upon realizing that:
    γ…€

Now you can animate 5 million nodes worth of defaults (had to use moviclips to avoid crashing).

    γ…€
(New Sounds) 37 new sound effects were added this update, from anime sfx to memes, and some pretty useful ones like fabric and door sounds, always have to add those in post, cool to see more though.

(Actual Movieclip Submission form) There is now an actual submission form for movieclips, even though you could send them before the update, it’s nice to have an actual place to send them through now.

(Other stuff) not as important but still great, we now have the option to push back connected figures together, so now layering won’t be such a tedious task!

The Anti-Aliasing and Better Blur options were improved as well, so now it isn’t as buggy.

Finally, a cool little detail, the ID of a figure briefly appears in the bottom left corner when you click on it.

There’s lots of other small changes, but these were the most interesting ones that I thought were worth pointing out, sorry if I happened to miss something, just wanted to get the main stuff out of the way. Also, if you haven’t already, check out the official videos by Arcionek and Ralph on the new update. No weekly winners this week as this article is long enough, plus we didnt get figures for like three days-, Anyways, that’s all for now, enjoy the update!

  • Sprite Update Status

Sorry for missing this Sunday, my pet fish drowned and i haven’t been the same, but who needs a schedule when I can technically do this on any day, though I normally do it on Sunday only out of courtesy for the Site Log. But they talk about daily posts, so it’s fine.
Also, these posts are kinda short, so I might re-add the honorable mention section for site stuff, maybe, idk it felt more involving(?), plus it makes the post longer.

[More Progress on the Sprite Update]

The progress bar finally reaches 97%, and Ralph recently reposted his Twitter post with extra stuff added, stating that the IOS version of the Sprite Update is stable enough for testing. Though no actual release date has yet to be determined, Ralph mentions that “May looks promising”.

  • 0 Days Without Nonsense

I fortunately wasn’t here to witness this mess, but after reading for a bit I think I get what happened, so now I’m going to rant about the state of these “new users”.

The bad, the bad, and the worse.

Some guy named Kingdomkid was spamming, begging for attention, and overall just being annoying.

    “Just ban me already”

Probably the main reason why some people shouldn’t be able to access the internet. If you’re going to behave the way you do, acknowledge it, and instead of changing, you continue to do the same thing, just leave, don’t wait for someone to make you leave.

Megaphone on the other hand however, is just far worse, doing everything kingdomkid did, but also spamming gore on a stickfigure website (according to some users). My condolences to the mods for having to put up with all this.

Also Eggbert, AKA Invader, who has been on SNN before, came back to try and apologize in the middle of the commotion, but was immediately banned lol.

    Confirmation post of the bannings

Instead of three, only two users got the top stats this week, with Winchie getting the most likes AND UC votes.

  • Progress Report

Hiii, I missed a week or two due to being bored, anyways, some cool stuff that happened this week, actually not really, more like one thing. To be honest, not much has happened the past weeks anyways besides the counter going up.

    Useless Drama

Let’s just get this out the way, some new user decided to be annoying and annoy everyone, I’m not gonna give it anymore attention because its dumb and unnecessary and that’s most likely want they want, attention.

    Sprite Update Release Info

Ralph recently put out a post updating on the state of Sprite Update. So far the second Version of the sprite update seems to be going well with a lot less bugs than before, well according to Ralph-

Also, he mentioned how he’s got the 80 winners of the Splashscreen contest from last year, that had almost 1000 submissions. Just go read the original post for more info, but thats just the rundown. Here’s the link.

    Commissions for the Win

Ralph’s commissions to K-Zilla got him some money and some UC Wins, but more importantly money. Anyways, this weeks winners that don’t actually win anything are..

  • Weekly Recap x2

Welcome back to the revival* era of SNN, without the formality and just documenting the actual “important” stuff that happened throughout the week. Anyways, nothing too interesting besides some homophobic humbug, both resulting from Gigan trolling, obviously.

    Incident 1:

Fedora, a relatively new user, decided to take Gigan’s words seriously, so naturally this sprung up an argument. This all began after Melon Lord made a post about a poll. After Fedora gets called an “inbred troglodyte hellspawn”, Fedora responds with the comment below:

    Image provided by Melon Lord

Soon after the comment was deleted, but the thread was saved from emails of the comments, link to comment with all the images: https://sticknodes.com/activity/p/1479536/#acomment-1479544

    Incident 2:

Astrovom, who was last on SNN over a year ago, came back to immediately remind everyone why they were on here last time. Basically, they questioned the remarks Gigan was making towards Ralph on his own post, so Gigan decided to make fun of Astrovom for their last incident by calling them a “devil worshipper”, knowing they’re very religious. This resulted in Astrovom getting turned into a copypasta for a comment they made, but that was pretty much all that happened lol-

    Image provided by Gigan

Blood Splatter Effects = Guaranteed Wins

Smooth af blood effect movieclip by Melon technically won every category (besides a tie with Craz’s figure for # of UC votes). Also, I tried making a better looking image using old elements. Anyways, here are the winners of this week, that’s all for now, see you next time.

  • Weekly Recap: More Sprite Update News

Hello again, I had another brilliant idea (actually thought of it a while ago but still), since this site is mostly used to download and submit stickfigures, why not have a short section of the article dedicated to it, you’ll find a rough draft version of it at the of the post, but it’ll basically be my go-to incase there’s not enough news to report.

Also, I might make this a weekly thing, so I can summarize what happened during the week instead of being isolated to one day, also to let the Daily Log have the week to themselves. Ok this intro is long enough, let’s check out what’s been up lately.

    Slight Sprite Update Delay:

A few days ago, a version of the Stick Nodes 4.0.0 Update was released to beta testers. Suddenly, the percentage bar dropped from 93% to 90%. Why you might ask? The image below is pretty self-explanatory.

However, sneak peeks of the Sprite Update were posted by the Beta testers, the most notable being Squi, who has made a substantial amount of posts demonstrating sprites in action. Here a few links to their posts for you to check out:

    Stick Nodes Chess
    Uncanny
    Stick Nodes Manga..?

    Thumbnail Submission Form Closes:

Recently, the form where users used to submit thumbnail images was closed, if you were one of the users who used this form, you must now send the thumbnail image along with the stickfigure submission when emailing it. Link to the closed form: https://sticknodes.com/submit-thumbnail/

    Weekly Statisticks:
Here’s a little section to report on the actual stickfigure aspect of the site, but since it’s still not fully finalized, let’s just call it a demo version of the idea. Anyways, for this part I’ll just have an image (it’s a mock-up ok) of the “winners” of this week, with the stats above, ok that’s all I have for now, see you next week!
