There are series and features, but nothing ever like the collaborations between dark demon and hyuns dojo. Which is one of the reasons why I think we should start working towards a community that has enough quality to start gaining recognition for these types of things.
-
This is a topic that I feel could be discussed upon the community. I was hoping to ask if you\’re willing to give out a thought to this.
Also @ralphI\’ve been thinking about improving this community. Specifically, most people outside the community often see us as something nothing surprising to expect from.
Now or later, I think its a great chance to higher our reputation.
I think we could try starting a channel for the entire community where we could collaborate to make mini projects and work towards hard projects. I think this could be managed by @tastylemon16 or anybody else who thinks they can manage something like that.Because this is an idea that would probably take out time from others priorities, this is an idea that could probably be thought of later or just something that would be worked on through a fair amount of time.
There could be collaborations that are produced
monthly – yearly. This content could be produced by some well known people and highly skilled people of the community:@giganshowaera
@teothedan
@milkymurderer
@teamwest
@jack
@maawoz
@pondiepie
@luckyanims
@jarmyanimations
And etc.The main motive is that this doesn\’t have to be very complicated or anything of the sort, but still high quality. I don\’t know if you\’re willing to accept this kind of project, and it\’s understandable if it\’s not something that can be implemented in your schedule. But I\’m hoping that you could help out with this sometime in the future.
This is simply for the sake of growing our community, and gaining recognition by others.

What you’re saying is true, the SN community doesn’t get recognised much on the internet, even tho it has 5 lack downloaders I see not many channels on yt posting quality animations made in stick nodes, but now it’s kinda getting popular, there were some features in the dojo community and some cool animations and series
The idea you said about collaborations sounds good

I feel like this place would have a much higher reputation if the community was actually a lot more tame or better to be in, in my opinion. It’s not really moreso a matter of “skill”, as from what I’ve seen people tend to actually be impressed by the stickfigures made on here.
From what I’ve been seeing from people on other platforms, the SN website just seems to have a reputation of another SN “subcommunity” that doesn’t really seem to be managed properly. They mostly either see it as a place for figure makers, or unfortunately, a place for the “weirdos”. While this seems a bit offensive, I honestly wouldn’t blame them.
There’s a key point that I feel like should be addressed more:
The moderation on this site feels incredibly lackluster. No offense to the mods, I’m sure you guys got the role for a reason, but please step it up. People honestly get away with way too much on this site, and the fact that the mods always take a sort of “neutral” stance on everything, taking minimal action, really doesn’t help this site’s reputation. I feel like a proper “punishment” system would really help this site a lot more, or at least making the rules a lot more clearer so people won’t just get away with everything on this site. Also highly suggest just locking posts which get way too heated and tell people to “stop any further discussion” when necessary. It’s good to be lenient and supportive of the community and all, but you need a decent balance between strict punishment and lenient behavior if you want people to actually not continue site drama.Before people start saying that I don’t know anything about modding or it’s hard to balance being strict and fun, I’ve moderated a bigger community (1000+ “active” users, 300k members) before with that exact mindset, with resounding success. It’s incredibly easy to stay engaged with the users and still be someone who enforces the rules. It’s not abusive to enforce the rules, just always make sure to make the site’s rules your primary basis for action to remain truly neutral.
TL;DR: Enforce the rules better. People get away with everything here.
also @ralph when are you hiring more mods 😁😁😁

I hear you, the site is a lot more casual with a lot of the things it does but with how Stick Nodes is anyway it’s questionable to enforce such action when a vast majority of what we have is a standard amount of effort put into things.
If we had an abundance of more users who really set themselves apart from others and generally if the site was bigger we could probably be more selective with what we choose to punish and enforce more but considering the lack of constant content it almost seems like another way to pulling the plug on the site as a whole.
The site is known for being a small hectic community which is good for some reasons but not so much for others.
I think more projects and stuff being promoted by using Stick Nodes would be better, getting more users and building a better community. Easier said then done though especially as a lot of people who use SN are children or teens finding the motivation and heavily invested efforts is a strain.
-
Replying to:
I wouldn’t really consider it “questionable” to uphold a standard for content or rules, it’s perfectly fine to be casual, being too “into your job” doesn’t really make things that fun (which is why i just resort to shitposting)
I’m not really talking about like killing the site completely by enforcing rules too much. I just think that the site “experience” isnt really that great when every 3 days or so there’s some 50 comments 0 likes thread that’s just some idiots trying to gain attention with sticknodes drama. While I do understand your concerns on wanting discussion, stuff like drama or bait should be handled a lot better to prevent it from just spiraling into stupidity. I am hopeful for further improvements in site moderation in the future though, and I’m willing to see what you guys can do when it comes to managing the members.
also for the projects yeah cool whatever you guys have fun with that i dont really have any concerns with that

lemon and firedino (and myself) flag (aka remove) a lot of posts/comments every week that go “too far”
stuff definitely slips through because there’s not always a mod to see it
i’d like to know examples of stuff you’re referring to that needs to be moderated more so maybe i can understand betterotherwise i don’t want to be everyone’s parent here
as long as it’s not vulgar, over the top, or attacking a user, or degrading the community as a whole
the rules are upheld pretty well as they’re written i’d say (http://sticknodes.com/the-rules/)
again – stuff slips through – honestly now that i’m thinking about it the best solution here would be an anonymous reporting system so questionable/antagonistic content will be notified to the modsi feel like gigan is the subtext here and yes, he is the most-flagged user here but everyone who’s been here for a while knows he’s just a living meme and he contributes a lot to the community (i swear he’s bipolar but that’s another topic)
a lot of this comes from how i grew up with the internet before it became such a sanitized “think of the children” shithole
aka it was fun and funny, much like this place is– – –
@ the original topic of this post however 2022 will be the year of SN collabs
i’m testing the waters with this Christmas collab. I will definitely need a collab “manager” maybe of the squid variety if we go down this route however because my free time is in the negatives right now and if I wanna work on SN PC next year i’m gonna need…free time
-

i would complain about being chosen for the collab manager but considering stixfigurez is the next choice i think it’s better if i just take the job
but im probably forced to avoid answering yes unless stuff changes because it’s almost my final year before college lets GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

wait so by this do you mean there’s one email and everyone shares the account
or one person has the account and accepts videos from the community?not a bad Idea although i do this some things need to be sorted out, like if the chan gets 1000 subs and enough watch time who will get paid?

I think some incentive put towards collabs and things would be great, once the SNU is out along with SNCA I feel like that could help with SN’s reputation.
Nice idea

The fact that you recognize me as someone skilled who can help in this is actually really nice lmao.
