War scythes could have a straight handle, yes
However, the blade is supposed to stand upwards, not to the side.
Standing upwards, a War Scythe can efficiently stab and slice through opponents.
If it were to the side, it’d simply be a really bad Bec de Corbin, a weapon i highly advise you look up, they’re awesome -
