Lemme teach you some s**t boi bout’ history.
1) For Honour ripoff.
2) Vikings are called Danes.
3) Samurai were not fast, they were just as fast as Knights, wearing heavy armour while weilding long Naginatas and heavy Odachi, the Tachi Katana was a backup.
4) The Japanese also made very good castles.
5) the Danes had the least technology, Medieval Europe (Germany, France and England) were the most advanced with full plate armour and innovating forging every day while the Japanese stuck to the same flawed forging method for 900 years.

If you want a historical X vs Y scenario, your better option would be taking a significant 6 factions from say… the Iron Age and giving users the pick to chose their factions out of.
Romans. (Legionaries and Testudo formations)
Greeks (including Spartans and Macedonians) (Hoplites and Phalanxes)
Carthaginians. (Freaking war elephants)
Gauls. (Tribal dudes and war dogs)
Egyptians. (Chariots… freaking chariots)
And Parthians. (Horse archers and motherf**king Cataphracts)Users would be given then a map of the world at the time (take Rome Total War 1’s map as a good example) and they would then follow these rules. Let them make a general and then have a pick of 3 free units. The users could then do battles with these and the victor would gain a new unit. This means people would actuvely be trying to seize world domination while also trying to wipe out other factions.
Start off simple, once things get spicy, add new additions.

are you a history major or something don’t lie
User Banned
Lol, didn’t even study History as a GCSE, nor do i have intentions of becoming a historian.
I just REALLY like history
User Banned
@crocodii
Im not trying to be historically accurate
User Banned
Ah well, I’m still making my design accurate af.
Knight in full plate armour.
Some gold on bits for ornaments.
A crest on the helmet.
A Sallet helm.
Weilding a Poleaxe with a Rondel and Longsword as back up weapons.
Good for you but no one cares how accurate it looks.

Nice to hear queen sissy b**ch
This salt is delicious
User Banned
Contradictory much???
I mean, some history majors and niche realist’s might care I dunno.
I mean, if no one cared about how accurate something is at simulating real events, games like ARMA wouldn’t have much of an audience.
User Banned
Realism is way cooler too, allows stuff to be more tense and graphic
oh my god I thought that said racism
Nothing like some good ol’ racism to spice up your story
ill be honest epitaph
I don’t think he’s trying to be historically accurate
Exactly

I know but like, still. I cringe when people make Samurai the absolute opposite of what they are, it’s like making cake a main course and chicken the desert, it isn’t correct no matter what.
They arent even that fast in this series everything is about the same speed, except the samurai they are just a tiny bjt faster
User Banned
Odachi are greatswords.

Samurai armour is heavy
Belive me, you ain’t gonna go any faster than Plate in that.
Also, the Danes are at an unimaginable disadvantage, why not swap them with Rome or Something else more formidable.
No… this is not supposed to be that accurate, there armour isnt even like that in this series
User Banned
Then how can you call them samurai if they don’t look like samurai, don’t act like samurai and don’t do what samurai do.
It’s a casual mainstream representation. It’s not about being historically accurate, it’s mostly about being cool
Hell even Japanese games don’t market the tradition Japanese samurai, I mean, have you seen Samurai Showdown? Half them aren’t even samurai!
Even when the whole ‘Ninjas were actually just Japanese spies’ goes mainstreAm, we still gonna have stuff like TMNT, Naruto, Tenchu, Ninja Gaiden etc, etc. Hell if anything we might get a Hitman styled old timey stealth game out of the whole Japanese spy stuff.
Basically this series is less of a serious debate over which era would win, but more of a casual ‘what if?’ Scenario, that’s not very worried about being accurate.
User Banned
But traditional Samurai are way cooler and fun, they’re armour is awesome. Ninja are just guy’s in tighsuits running around with stabbie things.
It’s probably simply because the pop culture Ninja is so popular.
User Banned
They’re boring, just OP spies
Are high flying acrobatic warriors profecient in martial arts, excellent sword masters who are also masters of stealth who are so good at staying hidden that no one even knew they were there in the first place boring?
Or we could have Japanese people listening to ‘important’ stuff.
Anything can sound boring if you boil it down enough, and almost anything sounds fun if you detail it enough
Knights are just sweaty men running around in shiny rock killing eachother
Swords are sharp shiny rock sticks
User Banned
Haha, acrobatic warriors.
You mean a spear’s target practice
lol
Pls don’t hit me with your long pointy stick whilst I’m 30ft in the air
User Banned
With my sturdy ash wood shaft with a long stabbing spike at the end that with your falling force could penetrate your skull.
Good job
sh!t
But stabbie things are awesome
Look at samurai jack. Enough said.
User Banned
Please explain what the hell is going on
Listen here boio gongo, your the one who also wanted to do this.
