I’m not gonna take sides in this but I am gonna say my two cents.

So, we all know about the drama that happened, quite the situation
For the uninformed.

In a nutshell this is what happened;

Guy attacks me by downvoting my stuff to prove a point that this site favors popular users, comes to their aid and doesn’t to unknown ones.
Drama, insues cause he attacked me for 0 reason.
Turns out, this was planned by multiple unappreciated users.
Drama insues.

Well, this (presumably) collection of users has a bit of a point.
I can’t give it the correct wording so I’ll paste their and or his final words:

“Compare how people helped Milky to how they would have helped an ordinary sticknodes user.

How was milky assisted?

The whole community came to her aid and I played bad guy just because I wanted to prove a point.

But what if Milky was a nobody?

What if it was just a nobody? Would the WHOLE community come to their aid?

Sure some generous people like Milky herself would assist them.

For this I apologize to Milky for using her to show an example.

But the point stands, this is why I am disgusted.

If you’re not reputable, people will ignore you no matter how much work you put in your content.

These people hiding behind my back, i’ve seen their content.

It’s extraordinary ranging from immersive fight scenes, movies, series, music and much more that are honestly, more better than the ones that get spotlighted. No offense. The content that gets spotlighted are spotlighted for a reason, they’re good.

So you see,

Because this account is just another account, they dont care. Not like Milky whom is reputable.

I apologize to Milky and the ones whom I had offended in this thread.

Now in my opinion here…he has a bit of a point.
The site can be in favor of popular users, as evident in some scenarios(likes, attention etc etc etc)
But.

He isn’t the antagonist cause he is a “lame account” it’s because he attacked me, like duh.

I’ve forgiven him, as he’s apologized and explain his reasoning but he really could’ve gone about it another way, mayhaps giving a calm discussion on the matter?
He’s said that we wouldn’t listen to a smaller account, I don’t think that but no ones gonna listen to him now and that leads us to this post.

This site, is quite trashy sometimes. Smaller users can be ignored or out right insulted cause they ain’t good enough.
But
He’s wrong in some part.
If you are good enough at sn, or even average (and are active and not a asshole) eventually you will float to the top or near it. I’d like to think so anyway.

but, he still has some point.

If I wasn’t reputable, and got attacked like I was now. No one would probably come to my aid like they did today, some would yes but not like the many people we saw happen today.
This site, isn’t very open to many newer users at times and or shuts them out by ignoring them.

Not always though, I’ve tried to welcome users and a few others I know have given them advice and stuff like that.
And many new users just create a account , say some words if at all and leave.
So it’s not very accurate to say we do not welcome them always.

I do see new users post ignored, while popular ones are given attention.
This makes sense, the more popular ones will get attention, the less known ones won’t duh.

It might be a matter of content too, some new/unknown user content well, isn’t very good.

I’d ask Overrated(the alt) to give me examples of the content he’s talked about that was made by the “ones behind his back” but, that would expose them to the sites backlash probably, which wouldn’t be good.

In any case, I’m not making this post to spark up drama, I’ve tried to say my two cents on this and both sides.
I’m making this post to hopefully spark up conversation on all this, I’m not sure what to think really and I’d like to see everyone’s thoughts.
I’m sort of rambling, sorry if this is all over the place.

Don’t go shit on overrated, he might be a troll, or a idiot but who knows…maybe he has a point.
Let’s converse about this and try to understand if there’s meret to it….personally I think it does.
