Okay so Prince of Egypt is actually really freaking good.
Sure it’s not the 1st coming of Christ ( see what I did there ?!!! ) But it’s still really good
For one, it compressed a boring-ass story from a boring-ass series of book into something thrilling to watch
And also, the movie doesn’t downplay the seriousness of the story with a cringe musical or simple dialogues, oh no, they went ahead and sent their scourge and sent their sword, thus saith the Lord.

So I just watched Puss in Boots : The Last Wish today
And damn, it’s pretty good !
I like how they made Puss go from a total narcissist to being humble and grateful, now THAT’S character development
The movie just looks quite pretty overall but the fight scenes being choppy ? Ehh… not a big fan…
And they should’ve kept Jack Horner, that guy had potential, he’s ACTUALLY evil and beyond redemption, he just reeks ” I want to be a motherfucker until the end ” vibe, we need more actual villains goddamnit

Puss and boots and spiderverse utilize this in amazing ways, using the choppy fps to show how either, unimportant the background characters are to highlight puss’s anxiety, or, to show miles Morales’s growth as a spider person by animating him on 2s and making him choppy up until he learns how to swing and move and then animating him smoothly. There’s always amazing and creative ways you and utilize everything and make it look good as long as you give it a purpose rather than just “this is choppy cus it is and spiderverse did it so I did too” for example here’s a really shitty fps anime that looks like ass

Replying to:Honestly i’m a great fan of those ‘choppy’ styles, as they take time to emphasize on important keyframes, long enough for the viewer to follow the action. It is rather interesting technique to pull off, a lot of knowledge about staging, timing and great confidence.

How dare you call the bible a boring-ass book..
I’d like you to explain how it isn’t a boring-ass book then
Like good God, the entire story is just a slog to read, the chapters are all structured the same, there is no real plot it’s literally just people believing that god will help them ( which, spoiled alert, he doesn’t, and never actually does most of the time, he just gives them consolation and a pat on the back ), there’s so many names, locations and events to keep track of and it just becomes confusing as hell in the end.
Not to mention there’s a ton of archaic reference that doesn’t make sense no matter what way you look at it.

God does help them many times, the bad stuff only happens when they forsake him, or he’s testing their faith, also by no means is it boring.
Sure it’s messy and chances are a load of baloney but it tells a story about belief, the olden times and generally just an array of metaphorical, deep and also fictional intriguing tales that have been noted, interpreted and coveted by all manner of people.
Not to mention it isn’t up for discussion about whether it should be classed as a good or bad story as it’s more of a foundation of belief for some people not to mention literally the most popular book ever. You can’t really stand against that nor is there any reason to.
