The muzzle shot making his whole body yellow is a pretty unique kind of style tbh. Obviously, it’s not realistic but it could be a one-time thing in a series to add more dramatic effect.

You could try and just add small dents, scratches or a bit of a worn out look. If you are going for a newish look. Then adding some ball nodes that are slightly brighter yellow. For example a small ball towards the top right which is slightly brighter or something like that.
If none of that is what you want then honestly speaking, the shield is pretty good in it itself
