If he was being genuine and being graphic, then you were completely in the right. If he was making a joke or just a random meaningless comment about it, then there may have been an overreaction. It all depends on context.
If I was in your situation, I probably would’ve reacted similarly, as I have a little sister too and something as innocent as wanting a light on is no excuse to make cruel jokes. But again, if it was a joke on his part, the response changes.
