Sticknodes.com's Lag Incident; Refresh ResultsHi, I had the genius idea to give up on formality and return to doing what I love, writing. So welcome back to the Stick News Network, where I no longer have to speak like a person who has a gun pointed to their head. Anyways, to start, let’s review this week’s strange events.
Chapter 1: The Beginning
About a week ago, Sticknodes.com begins to experience some lag, as the site starts loading at a slower rate, and all actions take longer to perform. Not that big of a deal, but still odd.
Chapter 2: Longer loading times, lots more lag
After a few days, the site begins to experience some detrimental dallying.
Almost everyone notices the lag and the site’s performance. It starts loading the pages at such a slow pace, the site even shuts downs a few times, and as of now, nobody even knows the reason behind all of this lag. So Ralph gets a web developer to look into it.Image from Ralph
Chapter 3: Saving Grace
Jim, the sites fourth admin, presumably fixes the site, and even graces it with a faster load time than before. The only problem however is that EVERY image (excluding comments) posted before the refresh has now been deleted, and the website link now has an h for some reason.
Some major pros and cons, but we’ll see how it’s dealt with later on, as with the rejuvenation of the site, Stick News joins the activity section.
This post was brought to you by the Stick News Network, the return.

FINALLY THE LAG IS GONE
Plus this site is running faster than before wtf
Wait every single image before the refresh is now broken

Does this mean you’re sticking to animation or doing comics?

A boot is a type of footwear. Most boots mainly cover the foot and the ankle, while some also cover some part of the lower calf. Some boots extend up the leg, sometimes as far as the knee or even the hip. Most boots have a heel that is clearly distinguishable from the rest of the sole, even if the two are made of one piece. Traditionally made of leather or rubber, modern boots are made from a variety of materials.
Boots are worn both for their functionality and for reasons of style and fashion. Functional concerns include: protection of the foot and leg from water, mud, pestilence (infectious disease, insect bites and stings, snake bites), extreme temperatures, sharp or blunt hazards (e.g. work boots may provide steel toes), physical abrasion, corrosive agents, or damaging radiation; ankle support and traction for strenuous activities such as hiking; and durability in harsh conditions (e.g. the underside of combat boots may be reinforced with hobnails).
In some cases, the wearing of boots may be required by laws or regulations, such as the regulations in some jurisdictions requiring workers on construction sites to wear steel-toed safety boots. Some uniforms include boots as the regulated footwear. Boots are recommended as well for motorcycle riders. High-top athletic shoes are generally not considered boots, even though they do cover the ankle, primarily due to the absence of a distinct heel. In Britain football (soccer) cleats are also called boots.
Early boots consisted of separate leggings, soles, and uppers worn together to provide greater ankle protection than shoes or sandals. Around 1000 BC, these components were more permanently joined to form a single unit that covered the feet and lower leg, often up to the knee. A type of soft leather ankle boots were worn by nomads in eastern Asia and carried to China to India and Russia around AD 1200 to 1500 by Mongol invaders. The Inuit and Aleut natives of Alaska developed traditional winter boots of caribou skin or sealskin featuring decorative touches of seal intestine, dog hair and suchlike. 17th century European boots were influenced by military styles, featuring thick soles and turnover tops that were originally designed to protect horse mounted soldiers. In the 1700s, distinctive, thigh-high boots worn by Hessian soldiers fighting in the American Revolutionary War influenced the development of the iconic heeled cowboy boots worn by cattlemen in the American west.
Boots which are designed for walking through snow, shallow water and mud may be made of a single closely stitched design (using leather, rubber, canvas, or similar material) to prevent the entry of water, snow, mud or dirt through gaps between the laces and tongue found in other types of shoes. Waterproof gumboots are made in different lengths of uppers. In extreme cases, thigh-boots called waders, worn by anglers, extend to the hip. Such boots may also be insulated for warmth. With the exception of gum boots, boots sold in general retail stores may be considered “water resistant”, as they are not usually fully waterproof, compared to advanced material boots, such as Gore-Tex, used regularly by fishers or hikers.
Speciality boots have been made to protect steelworkers’ feet and calves if they accidentally step in puddles of molten metal, to protect workers from a variety of chemical exposure, to protect workers from construction site hazards and to protect feet from extreme cold (e.g., with insulated or inflatable boots for use in Antarctica). Most work boots are “lace ups” made from leather. Formerly they were usually shod with hobnails and heel- and toe-plates, but now can usually be seen with a thick rubber sole, and often with steel toecaps. While gumboots are often used in workplaces, such as underground mines, studies have shown that workers prefer “lace up” boots mainly due to their support and better fit.
Boots are normally worn with socks to prevent chafes and blisters, to absorb sweat, to improve the foot’s grip inside the boot, or to insulate the foot from the cold. Before socks became widely available, footwraps were worn instead.
Specialty boots have been designed for many different types of sports, particularly riding, skiing, snowboarding, ice-skating, and sporting in wet/damp conditions.
Cowboy boots originated in the 1800s in the plains and desert of the midwest and far Western United States, however they were inspired by the vaquero-style boot bought from Spain to the Americas in the 1600s. Cowboy boots are traditionally tall and hit the calf, which is meant to help keep the foot firmly in the stirrup to keep it firmly anchored. Furthermore, they have angled heels, which help to anchor the foot into the stirrup to prevent it from slipping. The stitching on the leather exterior of the boots also serve a utilitarian purpose, to prevent the shaft of the boot from folding over.
The boots become popular in post-Civil War America, when the country saw a switch…[Read more]

Too long, didn\'t readHi, welcome back to me ranting about something useless. So basically I\’m currently done with like 5 minutes of the project, but the thing is, most of the time I\’m animating stuff thats kinda tedious, and I\’m lazy so i dont feel like animating something that doesnt need to be animated, so I\’m thinking about doing stuff in comic form, but idk i dont want to just stop animating, its just that i feel like animating the interesting stuff, unlike dialouge and stuff (which is mainly what is going on whwguwbw).
But if I just have the basic frames without movement it looks stiff and unnatural compared to the scenes that are actually animated, so animating the boring stuff is important, but ultimately has procrastinating. If I actually wanted to do it, I\’d do it, but I enjoy writing more. Nobody likes reading except for like the one or two people that actually read all the way down here, but if I added images along with the text (the comic thing I was talking about) I could do so much more and take less time to do what I want to do. Again, this doesnt mean I wont animate my characters anymore, its just that I\’d rather animate them doing something interesting rather than talking, so maybe the more lore-heavy stuff like bootlegged could just be presented in comic form or wwihd
LOOK, WHAT IM TRYING TO GET AT IS THAT IM VERY UNDECISIVE AND DONT KNOW HOW TO DO STUFF OK. I just dont feel like animating as much as I feel like writing. Images with text slapped on them is much easier to do than having them move their arms every two seconds just to say a few words, plus I\’ve started to enjoy making them now that i\’ve figured out how, also recently (i forgot who made the post) but somebody used google docs to make a comic which I thought was a cool way of sharing them, or maybe just making like five pages on a single post for people to read, but again, Idk.
ALSO ONE MORE THING, THE TIMELONE IS ALL MESSED UP BECAUSE I DIDNT FINISH THE SECOND EPISODE, THE FIRST ONE SUCKS, AND THE THIRD ONE IS CONFUSING IF YOU NEVER SAW WHAT HAPPENED SO IM THINKING OF STARTING OVER
Okay thats enough text for one day, if you read all the way through, why

I’m sorry that you find yourself in quite the sticky situation infinite. Though I do believe that a comic form would not really hinder the quality of bootlegged, that is ultimately up to you. All I can say is that I will support any decision that you make.
Perhaps take some time to think it through and gather up advice from others, particularly those who also have series’s or are adept animators who tell stories.
Your work has always been quality and, even in a different style, you can definitely pull it off.
-
While I personally enjoy your animations style along with music and sounds since it’s more immersive, I feel like the comic style would set you apart from other animators and the comics you’ve already made are very good looking.
The way I see it, either choice you make it’s a win. And I’ll be satisfied with whatever choice you make. If you choose comics I’d still like to see what you made so far for the newest episode.
And in the future feel free to use Penny as a character in the series, I feel like it would be interesting if she stole Sseugetinifni after hearing how valuable he is..
-
Honestly, I believe that you should put the dialogue heavy/scenes that you were referring to in comic form and action scenes/interesting in animation (like you brought up)
However this opinion doesn’t hold much value. So pick and choose you who listen to.
