I didn’t think of using ’ instead of “ for quotes to prevent the error that causes the / in between each quote
I’ll use ‘ in my log entries from now on for quotes

Resident Evil Village: VR Mode First Impressions
(Warning: Spoilers Ahead)Alright, so I’ve been playing Resident Evil Village VR for around 2 hours, so I’ll share my thoughts on it
This game is fantastic so far. I’ll explain why in the following categories. Haptics and Adaptive Triggers, Mechanics, Scariness, and Fun Factor
Haptics and Adaptive Triggers – Let’s start off with haptics. This game performs very well in this category, it really takes advantage of the headset and advanced controller haptics. Instead of just a simple rumble, the haptics really make you feel apart of the game. Mainly in shooting. They have subtle vibrations that in certain spots of the controller activate whenever certain events occur, like picking up the gun, and when you shoot, the haptics have different intensities in different locations and at different times to really make you feel like you shot the gun. Not to mention that the headset vibrates itself, and you really feel the power of each individual gun. The adaptive triggers are pretty good too, though the best use of those belong to Pavlov (in the games I played). Also, pulling back the slider on top of the gun never felt more real. It’s hard to put into words how good the haptics are
Mechanics – This game has very cool mechanics. Especially with melee weapons and one handed items. So far the only melee weapon I have gotten is the knife (and idk if there are any other melee weapons, haven’t gotten that far.), but the knife handles very naturally. You use trigger to switch between normal and reverse grip with the knife and flashlight (which the animation that plays in the hands while you do so is very satisfying), and with the knife you could throw it (and within like a second or two it teleports back to your holster. Not the most immersive, but it makes for some fun gameplay [which I’ll get into] and it’s convenient).
However, there are many flatscreen elements that transferred over to the VR mode. Such as many actions being animation based, like opening doors or crawling under things. This can lead to a loss of immersion but it’s not that bad. Also, your hand and items phase through things, but if you swing your knife marks appear on the thing you slashed at paired with a sound effect, and since it’s swung fast it doesn’t look unnatural.
Scariness – I haven’t gotten that far into the game yet (I spent a lot of my time in the tutorial and restarting on a lower difficulty since this game is difficult, I didn’t know you could swap difficulties after each death), but this game is pretty scary. Mainly because of the way the werewolves attack and jump scares. The werewolves normally ambush you, (and introduced in a scary way, the first time one is introduced it’s in a cramped space with dead bodies, and it rips apart of your fucking hand off) and are very hard to battle. Not to mention that they’re very quick and monsterous (is that a word?) in appearance. They attack by latching into you and ripping off pieces of your body, which is pretty terrifying when they’re up close.
Fun Factor– This game has very fun combat. I love how fast paced and difficult it is. The way you’re able to block, punch, throw your knife, and use guns (or do multiple at a time due to the dual motion controllers) allows for a lot of variety.
Honorable Mention – This game has some pretty good detailing and graphics. Sometimes the textures could look a bit weird (kinda smudged), but that’s just because if the lighting in some scenes and most of the time you don’t notice it at all</emm
Do I recommend this game if you own a PSVR 2? The answer is a resounding YES. Do I recommend it flatscreen? Idk, never played it in flatscreen and I probably never willUnrelated shitpost to catch your attention:
