• Bad news

Our basement flooded, and to make matters worse we just remodeled it less than a year ago and I think it cost like $40,000. We saved all of the electronics (the flooding didn’t go up that high, though I think some of the cords to said electronics are ruined), but our floorboards are breaking, and the walls were probably damaged too (the wood used wasn’t that good I think). Our dad said we might have to tear down the walls and floors and go back to it being a bare basement (before we remodeled it everything was exposed and we didn’t have walls to cover it up), but our Mom said the flooding wasn’t as bad as we thought it was. I think we stopped the flooding though and cleaned up most of the water with some sorta vacuum, then we pumped it out the water into the drive way. The pump broke though so I think we had to buy a new one. We also bought a dehumidifier to put in the basement (I was told it would help stop the rest of the floorboards from breaking). I know very little on the flooding and what damage it caused so this is just what I think I heard them say

And of course the water was sewage water, disgusting

We also thought we lost our dog for a minute but it turns out if was hiding in it’s cage since it was confused and scared at what was going on.
