Ignore the white (invisible nodes), they were just there to simulate the effect the eraser tool would create.

The “eraser” tool, which grants the ability to erase parts of nodes as if you drew them on a whiteboard, except the actual location where you interact with the node stays the same,

that’s just drawing but with extra steps
this could be a really cool yet tedious idea.
I think the slightly more technical side of this would be adding transparency masking to the area you wish to erase, and parenting it to the node.
