Nothing, like I said, if they’re under 13 it’s a concern, if not then it’s really no issue.

Is that you in your profile picture?

I don’t mean to pry, but you look younger than 13 and the site rules say that you must be 13+ to join. Honestly we have these rules for the best, even at 13 years old this can still be a pretty rough place as any social page on the internet can.

It’s crazy how different the DS ports were for certain games, Lego Batman in particular.

Huge differences but it’s so nostalgic, I can remember the bitcrunch Batman soundtrack playing whilst seeing Batman with his clunky run going around Gotham.

Pulling movements can be tricky but it’s all about trying to focus less on controlling the weight through the arms and more through the back.

Getting used to some muscle engagement cues like flexing the lats and extending the shoulder blade will help you engage the back more.

Put your arm out in front of you and twist your wrist outwards slightly imagining you’re trying to hold a pen under your armpits, this should help engage your lats and give you the mind muscle connection a little better.

If you keep your thumb over whatever you’re holding onto like how you’d grab a baseball bat, you’ll engage the forearm muscles more as they have to work to stabilise the weight as you drag it. Instead, wrap the thumb over where you’re gripping so your thumb and fingers should line up, like you are hanging off a ledge.

Start by extending the shoulder blades slightly to stretch the back, then begin to pull the weight towards you. Imagine this chain of movement:
    1. Shoulder blades
    2. Back
    3. Elbows
So you’ll have your shoulder blades pulled in first to engage the lats, then you’ll use the elbows to bend the arms and pull the weight towards you, depending on the movement, you may allow your torso to move backwards slightly.

The control of the movement will essentially rely on applying the control at the start to get the back engaged, then using the elbows to bend the arms and bring the weight closer, then finally with bringing the weight towards you as much as possible by using the shoulder blades and elbows.

Hopefully this helps, if you want any other tips, you can add me on Discord if you like and I’d be happy to help you.

  • Replying to comment by: ClvnYo thanks so much for the inspiring words! Lately I’ve been

Honestly as a starting point you seem to be doing well with what you’ve described, half reps for additional growth is smart.

Eventually you should consider weight training, not necessarily at the gym if you don’t want to, but having some dumbbells and weight plates can do you a lot of good. A little trick when it comes to training that really increases your capability and strength is to do your normal gym sessions and whilst you are home, you can do some few sets throughout the day. If you walk past a pull-up bar, do 10 pull-ups or when you leave your room, do 10 push-ups. Over the course of a day you would have accrued many sets and reps that will only aid recovery and improve your muscles capability. Essentially just training without training sessions.

As for form, just try and avoid injury basically, don’t worry about the best possible optimisation of form, for example, doing bicep curls whilst leaning back on a bench or something like that, because it’s often barely a difference and the only real metric for progression is effort and consistency.

Glad to hear you’re doing well for yourself and speaking so positively, it can be difficult but it serves you well sometimes.

If you ever need any exercise pointers let me know, I’m kind of a nerd when it comes to training, plus I have plenty of experience.

    All the best

  • Replying to comment by: ¥EEZATRONI really would love few improvements to the submission syste

While I understand your sentiment, I don’t think it’s something we need.

The only part about it I can agree with is perhaps the confirmation aspect of it, as I’ve also sent submissions before ( or believing I have ) only for it to not appear on the site.

Adding new features takes time aswell and Ralph is the only developer so spending time on a feature that only reassures users isn’t worth the time I’d say. Not to mention that some of the features you listed would be time consuming in itself:

Cancel a submission before it’s uploaded

Kind of pointless if you can have it taken down afterwards or better yet, just don’t submit it.

    Rejected submission messages

So many users, even if given a good reason will not be happy and still question the rejection, which is understandable as it can be subjective, but for that reason exactly, it wouldn’t make a whole lot of sense to provide a reason anyway. Taking the time to give a reason for a rejection would just make the submission approval work take that much longer considering the sheer amount of submissions.

To sum this all up, the submission system is already a lot of work for Ralph and Arcionek to sift through regularly, and most of the issues you’ve mentioned are more of mild inconveniences than anything substantial. I get your stance but the work to reward ratio is way off and I don’t see it being necessary.
